Update.....

Things are going extremely well. The nurses and doctors are very excited!

Went to the hospital for awhile this evening. Mom is off of the ventilator, and in high spirits. She is in a lot of pain but that is to be expected. She's very alert, watching tv, and eating on her own. Hopefully tomorrow they will switch her back to a completely normal solid food diet. I told her about the post here on POA, and she was very thankful to everyone....

Thank You All!

Everything is going well.. Mom was moved out of ICU into a regular room last night. Hopefully things will continue improving at this rate...

Thank you to the people that have made donations, it really means a lot, and Mom can use all the help she can get, nearly $75,000 of this is having to come out of pocket. The surgery cost between $750,000 and $1,000,000. That's the price you pay I guess, but then again you can't put a price on a life...

Thanks Again!

Well,
Things are ever changing....

Just received a call from the hospital.

Now they have moved my Mother back into ICU, and put her on a Ventilator again.... I have no idea what's exactly going on at the moment. Please continue to pray for her.

Thanks for asking Steve,

Mom is doing better. She has been taken back off the ventiltor, but still remains in ICU. Hopefully things will continue to improve. She had some problems getting fluid out of her new lungs. It's really hard for her to cough, and when you get a lung transplant they don't re attach the nerves that give you the urge to cough, so it's a new learning process again. My Family and I appreciate everyones thoughts, prayers, and concern.

Thanks Again,
Ron

Just another quick update...

Things are still pretty much unchanged.. They have tried letting her do 20% of the breathing on her own, and it didn't work, so Mom is still on the machine 100%.

Things are real iffy right now. They are feeding her with a tube, and they are going to have to do endoscopy on her tomorrow to place the tube where it should be.

Thanks Again Everyone!

Ron
