They'll pry my Starbuck's venti cafe mocha (light on the chocolate, no whipped cream, with a hearty dash of nutmeg) from my cold, dead hand!

My last cup of coffee was at Ft. Gordon, GA., 39 years ago.
Sandy was impressed with Tim Horton's that morning in Windsor, Canada on the way to Toronto. I don't know if she has ever tried Starbucks. I'll go wake her now and ask her. lol.

I've never had coffee. My parents drank it and I never liked the smell, so I've never tried it and don't have a desire to.

I have only tried Starbucks once and I too think it is too strong. We have a Tim Horton's in the Cincinnati area, but have not been there.

I tried several Tim Hortons and truly feel it is the WORST coffee ever sold to the unsuspecting public. Don't like paying Starbucks prices, but is actually good to drink!

Norm, I gotta agree with you about the $$$$$$$. Wife and I drink only Wal-Mart house brand. "Great Values" brand. 100% Arabica. It'a as good as any we have ever tried. JMO

Jimcool.

I drink lots of coffee. Now, my favorite is Community Dark Roast (Regional brand made here in New Orleans).

When I want to kick it up a little I use some Cafe Du Munde
Coffee & Chicory http://shop.cafedumonde.com/coffee.html

My absolute favorite is the Cafe Au Lait at their French Quarter location near Bourbon Street... Along with some beignets...

As far as your quetion on Tim Hortons. I had some in Mississagua at the Canada event. It has to rank up their at the top or near the top of the worst coffee I've ever had...
It's more similiar to Dunkin Donuts than Starbucks... Starbucks is a lil pricey but I only drint the Lattes.

The absoutely strongest cup of coffee I've ever drank was Cuban Coffee down in Miami. After that small cup I started drinking the Con Leche (similiar to Cafe Au Lait). And, that was very good. The black Cuban Coffee was very good when you had lots of sugar... Drank it out of the demitasse cup.

Same type cup I drank coffee out of as a kid (50+ years ago) at my Grandmothers house when coffee was made in a drip pot... About two ounces of coffee and four teaspoons of sugar...

I don't mind Tim Horton's but I have had better coffee - but not at Starbucks.
Starbucks opened a few outlets in Toronto right across from Tim Hortons to see how they would do. After an initial little surge, the Starbucks are suffering big time (as are the Krispy Kreme's who tried the same strategy).

I think Tim Hortons has the right mix of everything - super quick take-out of breakfast, lunch, quick dinner, and evening snack. Most outlets (and there are more than 2,300 in Canada) are busy virtually all day long.

Tim Hortons is a hugely successful chain started by 1960's NHL star Tim Horton and is now owned by Wendy's. Expansion into the US was started a few years ago and I believe they have plans to open something like 5,000 outlets in selected markets

I drink alot of coffee, of different flavors. I get whole beans from Gloria Jean's and grind them fresh myself. Always as strong or weak as I want, and always fresh. I like their Irish Cream. The best coffee I ever had was out of Montana at a place called Kitchen Cupboard. Flavor was Creme de Noisette. They went out of business and I can't find the same coffee anywhere. Noisette means Hazelnut, but Hazelnut coffee is totally different. I've only had Starbucks twice. Someone elses treat. I won't pay their prices. It wasn't bad, but not what I would drink regularly. The best coffee is supposed to be Jamaican Blue Mountain. It's pretty expensive and not all that good. Hawaiian Kona coffee is supposedly 2nd best and also expensive, but I don't like that either. Never heard of Tim Hortons. Swiss chocolate coffee is pretty good if you can get it. I used to get that from Seattles Best. That's the only place I could find true swiss chocolate coffee. The rest of the places selling "swiss chocolate" coffee is really Dutch chocolate coffee, and taste isn't the same, and most of them contain almonds mixed in with the coffee.

I had my last cup of coffee in 1971. I have completely lost the taste for it.

Coffee is a part of my morning...every single morning!
Tim Horton's is pretty good, but I much prefer Starbucks or even Timothy's....in any case the franchises certainly aren't hurting...there is a lineup all the time!

I finally remembered to ask Sandy about the coffee. She said she liked it. We have several Tim Horton's in the area but we have never eat at one around here. We ate at two diff. the same night on the way to the drag strip during the Toronto trip.
