Looks like my Delta Medallion status will be worth ZERO come February. Delta is pretty much pulling out of DFW..
I always chose them over American.
Well I guess I won't have that choice anymore since they are restructuring from 270 flights a day down to 21. All Delta Connection will be gone too. What a sad day at DFW. I guess it might be good for the other airlines though.

I feel for the thousands of people who might be losing their jobs.

One thing I can say is if you think Atlanta is a nightmare now, wait till they move part of the Dallas fleet there, and increase their flights even more... Delay City!
I've been a lifelong Delta customer, I always chose them first, and now I feel abandoned...

I'm surprised they are still in business. The airlines have been feeding off each other for years with discount fares to drive the competition out of business.

With the whobbly state of most of them, I wouldn't be surprised if most weren't gone in 5-10 years.

Yes it's very sad.

Delta was one of the few airlines that didn't go into bankruptcy. They had a huge surplus of cash on hand, and I guess it's dwindling fast.

Cincinnati is one of their big hubs and the prices here were rated "GOUGE" and a lot (1000s everyday) drove to Indianapolis, Louisville, Columbus to fly. Now they are restructering all the fares. It may be too late for them, here. Comair is a subsidiary and they are doing fairly well, I think.

The airline business seems to be an ever-changing one. Even the cost......it always goes up!

A friend of mine is a pilot for one of their regional airlines ASA. According to him ASA is the only one that has actually been profitable since 9/11. Now all the regionals will be gone from here. I hope for his sake he doesn't have to relocate to another city to keep his job.

Delta prices here weren't too bad. I usually always buy a first class ticket, and they were usually always hundreds of dollars less than American.

The airline business is certainly a competitive one...
There are so many smaller airline companies that have surfaced in the last few years offering much better deals than the major players!
Pretty much everything these days is price driven which forces a lot of big airlines to restructure or simply get out of the game...
To give you an example,Air Canada went for creditor protection(a step before bankruptcy)at least once, maybe more...Still struggling today!
The times are most certainly changing
