A/C, I thought he did great in a few spots but overall I did not think it was nearly as good as Ahhhhhnold's. He made a few great points but he is not all that charismatic (unless you put him next to Kerry, of course. Then he is unbelievably charismatic.) He is just not all that smooth.
I would say a B or B-.

Ed - I guess I listened to a different speech than you, but I respect your right to give your opinion. I listened to 'proposed plans' during a second term if re-elected,,,,,as contrasted to Kerry's plan of "Reporting for Duty" and "Hope is on the Way". How generic is that? Kerry is a twenty year politician who will lie, steal, cheat, and stick his hand into my wallet. His only plan is to wear flip-flops out by the pool at one of his five multi-million dollar mansions Bush is a man who stands and lives by his convictions, backs our troops, and can admit his short comings,,,,,,,, but is willing to take this great country forward.

**********************************************************

Now I'm listening to John Ketchup Kerry refute the Bush speech. Same old crap,,,,bringing up his past vet service. I applaud the SwiftBoat Veterans for their right to tell us what really happened in the 60's about the anti-war, anti-military, war crime felon Kerry. Until he fully apologies to all Vietnam veterans, I hope they continue to attack and distract his campaign = Unfit for Command.

A/C, I totally agree with the second post. W's speech just did not move me except when he said he would support our troops to "bring them home to the honor they earned." and a few other blurbs. Overall it was okay but not great.

I think the whole convention was masterfully planned.

McCain - Helped with the centrists.
Rudy - Great with the 9/11 theme.
Arnold - With the immigrant/dream message.
Zell Miller - Democrat who cut Kerry off at the knees.
Laura Bush - Supportive classy First Lady.
Cheney - Strong leader who wouldn't miss a beat if needed to step up to the big chair.
President Bush - Strong stately leader who stayed above the negativity.

I somewhat agree with Ed in that the President's speach wasn't as memorable as some, but it appeared to be the plan to let others give the fire & brimestone addresses & let him to address his domestic agenda and strong national security position in a calm stately manner.

Great synopsis Randy. I noticed W spoke slowly at the start of his speech and picked up a little steam towards the end. Guess he didn't want to trip over his words. He's not the greatest orator, but give the impression of honesty to me, and that's what counts.

Bush's speech was good but like others I do not like his delivery style. I think Zell stole the show. As a Georgian I am so proud of Zell, a politician that speaks his mind and from the heart and not a party line.

Kerry is plain Scary

Is this a great country or what? I mean where else can someone convicted of DUI rise to the highest office of our land. Good thing he didn't kill anyone (like you, me or our loved ones) because then he would only have made it as high as Gov. or Sen.

almost as good as someone inflicting wounds to get an early out from the Nam. A good soldier would have gone back to help his buds and finish his tour.

Pls don't take my reply as a camouflaged endorsment for any one. I find them equally unqualified as sad as that is. One side can screw it up just as good as the other. I just have a problem with anyone that makes the decision to drive under the influence, in charge of my country. DUI is an unforgivable sin in my book. I have no desire to sling political muck with or at anyone. My Prowler and I have to share the road with people that drink and drive and that just ain't right!

Blackcat, I'm not confused (at least on this point lol) as I was referring to W and Ted when I said Gov. and Sen.

Just because someone did not get caught, does not mean they never drove under the influence. I have a very close friend that drinks very heavily at times and drives. He has rolled a car or two in his day and NEVER has had a DUI. I worry about DUIs and young kids hot-rodding when I am on the M/C also. It only takes someone to come over the line about 3 feet and you could be history. That is why it is wise to enjoy life while you can. Anyone can die in an accident or get a serious sickness without any warning. i.e. Blockbuster, Bill Clinton, etc. Enjoy your Prowler while you can, don't worry about resale value.
WarmNcool, I try to always disagree with Alley Cat, even if he is correct and agrees with me. Sometimes that makes me change my mind, just on principle. lol.

What say we all pencil in Meancat for President and then we can have POA events at the White House and park on the front lawn. Now is that a photo/op or what. We wouldn't have to worry about anyone messin' with our Prowlers 'cause the Secret Service would be given orders to shoot to kill! And if anyone asked if they were kit cars or how much they cost we could deport them. The Oval Office will have pictures of every color Prowler there is. And then President Meancat can order that new floor mats be made in every color. What else can you think of?
