Ever since I was a kid driving my tractor, I always wanted to operate a dozer. Well, today I got my chance...I've taken on the task of developing a family subdivision. One of my brothers had arraged for us to use a lil dozer to clear some sight lines for the Surveyor. Well, Pat & I were cutting a path through center and ended up getting the dozer stuck in a ditch. So, this morning we arranged for a rental C5 dozer. After the rental company delivered it near the site, I got to operate my 1st dozer. I drove it through the fields to our property and my Dad followed me in my truck. After parking the dozer, I was going to move my truck. I turned around and I'm stunned. My Dad is climbing onto the dozer... Now he's 83 years old... I think he thought the two of us were going to pull the dozer out. I was just getting things setup for Pat & a couple of friends who were gong to stop by after work to get the stuck dozer unstuck... We got it out and operating a dozer and clearing trees is a blast. This could become addictive... Here's my Dad...
The stuck dozer...
Clearing out a couple of trees to extract the stuck dozer...
We got the dozer positioned so we could conect a chain and pull it out backwards...
Out of the mud and ready to start some clearing... We left a lil rut... I'll be spending the 4th doing a little dozer work...

Laddie, I am glad to hear it is for a family subdivision. I was afraid you were selling swamp land to those dumb Yankees, AGAIN. lol. You have all the fun. If you get the C5 stuck, what do you get to operate next?

Buddy. Same here. The mosquitos are ferroucious inside that tree area... It's very wet & lots of standing water. But, once we get it cleared and cut the drainage out of that area it will be OK.

Ed.
Actually, Phase I is for our family and I don't think we have any Yankees in that bunch... Edited: except for my son, he was born in Waukesha, WI... Since we're at 11' at front section nearest river, I'm naming it Hester Heights.... Actually, it's not as bad as it looks... I'm planning 16 lots in the 1st 16 acre section. We're only about 600' from the MS river levee. More pics... Looking down center of property from end of Phase II. Northeast corner of Phase I. Except for the treed area, it's all sugarcane.
From the top of levee along MS. River overlooking river.
