the new GTO may be a good car, but it's less than outstanding looks have spelled disaster for the new Pontiac muscle car....for the first four months of 2004 the Pontiac Aztec has outsold the GTO by well over a 2 to 1 margin(7,400 to 2,800).....all kinds of excuses I suppose, but looks of the car seem to be the main obstacle.....should have went with something other than a Cavalier look alike, this car could have been fantastic,....figures were from the Chicago Times.....

At that rate they will still sell about as many GTO's in one years as all Prowlers ever. I guess that shows us just how special our cars are.

My opinion is similar to others expressed. The GTO is just an engine installed in a typical 2 door coupe. The target demographics group for this car weren't even born when the original GTO's were being manufactured. It's too bad they chise the GTO name for this new car.

No - but sat in a new Magnum with 20" chrome aftermarket wheels and I drove one of the Show Trucks Bob L had commissioned for DC with a KenneBell supercharged Hemi engine. If you combined those two and had a new Magnum with some appearance mods and a KenneBell supecharged Hemi -it would be a grerta parts/delivery vehicle for RealRod!!

If the new Charger doesn't have some retro look, the Crossfire will outsell the new Charger...

You'd think with Bob Lutz around GM would add a little bit of pizzaz to their cars-it seems like it's going in the opposite direction!
We'll have to wait and see what the response is like to the new Corvette!

I remember that post but our insider said not to hold our breath on the good looking car in the pic. I was hoping she maybe had a sneak peak for us.

There was a new GTO at a car show I was in last month (7th Annual Grazin' With The Goats). He parked right next to me and I didn't know what it was til he said. The guy was a pushy salesman, and was damn proud of "easily" getting it up to 158mph the night before. Was getting p!$$ed that he couldn't generate much interest in his car and left the show early. (He ended up winning something.) It was a nice looking car and all, but, I've seen GTO's before. I've driven a GTO before. That was no GTO.

I'd like to see one of the customizers chop the top about 4" on one of the new Magnums. I think that would look really sharp. Might even look good to try the 300M chopped.

The new Pontiac is a decent car and has a great engine/tranny combo. Take the GTO badge off and forget what it was supposed to be and enjoy it as the newest high performance Pontiac. Faster than a Solara or an Accord! Interior looks great. Just drive around and blow the doors off everyone's rice burners. BTW, it handles great as per Car-Driver TV.

As a previous owner of 4 GTO's, the new "Grand Am" isn't a GTO

This car is sooooo sad looking. It does look just like the cavalier!!! GM can;t seem to get anything right(exception the New C6 Vette!)

According to my Brother a supplier rep to Dodge - there is going to be little change in the concept to production looks for the charger- He said it is very close to concept look. Lets hope so!

I have a picture out of I think automobile magazine of the New charger. It is very similar to the magnum. grill is different, painted to match the car. different wheels. A little more sporty looking. I like It
