Last Night's episode had to be the most amazing episode I've ever seen. To quote Jesse..."60% of Hot Rodding's entire history is here together in this room right now working together."

...watching 83 year old legend Bill Hines work his lead magic had Jesse drop-jawed. Just watching Jesse in awe of his Gods was cool to watch.

(They took a 54 Chebby and old-school chopped/ frenched and sectioned it.)

Catch it if you missed it.

I agree 110%!

The show was beginning to get a little stale, but last night was superb.

I stayed up late to watch it twice, the guys worked together unlike past shows,,, chopped, sectioned, leaded, lowered new motor and tranny/rearend,,, very sweet hotrod...

When a problem came up in was fixed in seconds,,,,,,

I would have to vote 2nd best show, the best one when JJ was building the upside down boat for a very sick kid and him to ride in,,,during the build the kid past away,,, JJ put the second seat in and started to tear up... For the man to appear and act as a hard @$$, he touched the heart of America and Deb/I.........

I agree, last nights episode was by far the best ever. I copied it on my TVO and hope to transfer it to DVD. I will defintely buy this episode if Discovery makes it available. Those guys made sectioning and chopping that 54 look easy. I wonder what is going to happen to that car? Do you think Jesse will get to keep it? They could sell it for a ton of money.

Your right they made it look easy taking a little here and a little there, along with the episode of Rides when they did the 57 Chev truck makes me re think what I want to do with my 55 Chev Pick-up. Anyone want to come up for a 7 day marathon? also anyone want to show me how to get around $20,000 in FREEBIES?

Right on Gary....Jesse said this was the first time he didn't have to tell anyone what to do. He just stood back and watched in amazement, as I did.

You are right about the other episode too....really a heartbreaker. hard to watch the end when Jesse breaks down a bit.

I watched them do it but, still don't get it. What exactly is "Leading". Is that permanent? Seems like it would be too soft for real use.

BeWare, I think all the cars are saved (not sold) and are in a museum. Some are taken out for various functions and MG touring. But, I don't think they sell any of them.

YF...What surprised me was that they slathered the whole car with a shmear of Bondo before painting. That shocked me.

So maybe the softness of the lead doesn't matter if it's a base for the Bondo layer?

OLD SCHOOL body work....lead was the way before bondo

all super smooth paint jobs will almost always have a skim coat of filler to block sand off for that glass finish

hope to see this in the future........anymore I do not get to watch Monster Garage since I go to bed so early

A huge build up of bondo will continue to shrink, the Lead dude was great, at the Caddy dealership I worked in the body shop for two summers I learned to lead but not to that extreme,,,, WOW maybe thats my problem huffing all the lacquer fumes I still love the smell of a body shop...
