This fine, flawless auto was at our local car show last weekend. For our old car buffs, guess the type and year. I'll post the answer later, if nobody gets it.

L.E.-good looking car-arguably one of the best looking for it's time by some, and powered by the aircraft 12, a real powerhouse for 1936. Here's a rear shot of the real deal.
Hope I didn't spoil your fun--thanks for posting the pic.

Al - I posted the trivia question,,,,,all of our camera downloading is done on Lethia's computer. The real deal you pictured, is in fine shape. Wasn't aware it had that big of a motor, wow! Wonder how many they sold? I thought Ed would be the guess winner,,,,since he was a teenager back in 1936, lol.

Gosh, even my hubby Jim guessed it was a 1936 but he thought it was a Pheyton or some name like that. Thanks that was fun to guess.

I was not online all day. If you guys would make it to the AUBURN parade or get the video you would see a whole bunch of them. They are sharp looking cars and I would love to own one.
I bought ceramic pads at NAPA and got an input and output sensor for the Candy. I am going to keep them in the glove box. (the sensors, not the pads.)
About $ 19 each, TSS 100 and TSS 200, in stock. Cheap insurance if you are traveling.

Hey Ed -- could you please explain what do you mean about an input and an output sensor being cheap insurance?

It is a quick look at some of the classics at Auburn if you follow the link, click on the video promo for "Prowlin the Smokies."

Lots more in the video, Auburns, Cords, Dusenberg. Those cars are something.

FL Blue - what Ed is referring to is buying a backup set of tranny input and output sensors. Their failure is rather somewhat common on DC automatic transmissions, and your cat could drop into locked 2nd gear when one fails. They are easy to change if you have a backup set in your trunk.

AC -- thanks. I guess I can get the sensors at my dealership or is there a cheaper source? Are there instructions somewhere for changing these? I guess I should also have the tools on hand to do the change. Any idea what's needed? Thanks for the help.

Fl. Blue - about $30+ at Mopar parts, each. Ed said they were $19 each at NAPA,,,good price. All you need is a deep 1" socket to remove, as I recall. I'll recheck that socket size later. OR,,,you could change out one with a left handed, metric, Irish, Monahan cresent wrench

Fl Blue, if you do a search here with the word "limp mode" you will see that it has occurred a few times. It happened to my 99 when I hit a huge drop off in the pavement in a construction zone. That was before POA and it took the dealership awhile to figure out. It stays in 2nd gear and you "limp" to the dealer to get it fixed. While you are travelling it is sometimes not too close to a dealer.
Also, if you do the "limp Mode" search, as a bonus you get a pop-up picture of Alley Cat. I guess you can figure out the connection. lol
