The commercial that I really liked for the late 60's early 70's was the AMC, I believe it was a Javlin, The car had a blower on it, mag wheels, jacked up, just what every kid wanted to do to their car when they brought it home. It is parked in the driveway and the dad looks out and see's it and yell's something about the car being BUTCHERED! |

Absolute best commercials were "Cal Worthington and his dog Spot". Don't ever remember Spot actually being a dog of course. Elephant, tiger, ostrich, girafffe, etc., but a dog -- never. Cal was/is a So CA dealer and I only got to see those commercials when on business trips to CA. |

OJ Simpson, running through the airport, jumping into the car from the rear to the tune of, "Let Hertz put you in the Driver's seat . . . . Today!" -GRROWL |

An old VW commercial that shows a snow plow parked in the middle of nowhere on a snowy morning, and then a voice comes up saying "ever wonder how the Snow plow driver gets to work?" and all of a sudden you hear that familar sound of a VW Beetle engine..and up comes the plow driver in a Beetle. Truth is..those things WERE great in snow! I grew up in Detroit and NEVER got stuck in a Bug in snow!! |

OK, a more recent commercial, has anyone seen it? Does anyone else see the same meaning as I do? Two little old ladies leave CVS with the announcer saying how Mary saves all that money using her CVS savings card. With all the money she saved, she bought a new car. They walk up to a hot-red sports car. I'm pretty sure it's a Viper. I THINK they're saying this is "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena" with the modern version of the "Brand-New, Shiny-Red, Super-Stock Dodge". Anyone else see it that way? -GRROWL |

Remember the VW commercial that showed the their test engineers standing on the test track? It shows a VW weaving in and out of the line of engineers and the voice over saying "Our engineers have so much confidence in their product that they will stand on the test track during testing" or something similar. A friend of mine did a spoof of that commercial and it was shown on the Johnny Carson show a couple of times - Johnny loved it! It showed the test driver running over the test engineers. My brother and I helped him produce it and I was the first engineer that the car drove around and my brother was the one of the people that the test driver hit.
