True story:
I bought my Black '99 in December from the original owner. I never even test drove it because the car had NEVER been wet in all 580 miles it ever traveled since he bought it new, and it was a snowy rainy mess outside. (Probably not the best move to drop that much money on a car and never see it move more than a few feet. You have to trust people sometimes and this was the case.)

As I drove it home, I finally turned on the stereo. He had left it tuned to a classic rock station and the first sounds to come out of the speakers as I pulled onto the freeway was "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf. No DJ intro. No commercial lead in. Just the start of the song and nothing else. How cool is that.

That song would be too obvious of a theme song for a beloved Prowler. I thought I would share my tale as a segue to my chosen theme song: Echo and the Bunnymen's ballad "Get in the Car" from their "What are You Going to Do.." CD. If you ever get a chance to hear it, see if it wouldn't be a great song that embodies why many of us love these cars. It is also a great song for late night, cool breeze summer cruising. I can't wait to try it when the snow and salt clears away.

...I got in my 1st Kat once when it was still new, turned on the stereo and Pink Floyds "Money" was just starting.....the part of the song where you hear the money jingling, I thought how appropriate...the Kat has all my money, but at least it is letting me listen to it .....

I like way to many songs to pick one. I grew from 1950 on, with three older sisters. Music was always on. Played tenor sax for a soul/blues/rock n roll band in the early 70s. Like to hear the Stones when the tops down, cool day.

My banner has a favorite song though, click on it.

After re reading the topic, I guess this IS my kat's song..

Hey Kevin - I was just in Columbus for business for a couple of days and drove to Gahanna to seemy old neighborhood - whoa - you all have grown since the 70's! Gahanna & New Albany almost run into each other now and the Easton area used to be farmland!

Marty, we drove up Saturday to meet Jack and Maria Cody for lunch at Easton Mall. They are from the Akron area and we first met them at Woodward 3(?) years ago.
I wish I would have known you were right there, if you were still there on Sat. We had a great time. We were there for 3 hours.
I think Jack might be A/C's illegitimate father. lol.
He is a funny guy. We had a few laughs.

Ed - you were suppose to keep that part private! We are now doing the DNA test. Jack and Maria are great people.

Ed - I had dinner there Sat evening about 6:30 at Champ's. The wait was too long at Cheesecake Factory and several other restaurants in the complex.

We were back home by that time. Sorry we missed you. That place does some serious business, even at lunchtime.
