While my son is in town on leave, Bob arranged for him to take a tour of one of the MSX facilities. While visiting, we saw a lot of the great vehicles that have been on tour with the auto shows and also some things in the making. The highlight of our visit, though, was one area of the facility that was housing a great number of Chrysler's concept vehicles from the past. We hit it at just the right time, as there were a lot of them there. It was the first time for even me to be that close and personal with the actual concept vehicles. I was able to take some photos of our favorites. There were a lot I didn't take, as it was difficult with everything being parked so close to each other. The ones I didn't take include such vehicles as: Chrysler: Citadel, LHX, Panel Cruiser. Dodge: MAXX Cab, Power Wagon. Jeep: Commander, Icon. Plymouth: Back Pack, Expresso, Pronto Cruiser, Pronto Spyder It was quite a thrill for both my son and me!!! His absolute favorite is the Dodge Razor with the Dodge Charger R/T a close second. My two favorites there were the Chrysler Chronos and the Chrysler Phaeton. Click on the link below to view my scrapbook of photos! I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!! |

Why do all car companies do these concepts but, then never build them? Or sorta build some but, water it down so much it is never the concept they bring to shows???? I rarely even look at any of the concept cars at car shows as I know most will never see the light of day so why even get remotely interested...... "Build them and the will buy it" BTW-great pictures!!!!I've always loved the Atlantic!!!! |

CJ - thanks for posting those and bringing back some fond memories of auto shows. I was always hoping they would bring the Charger back but make it a 2 door instead of the 4 door concept. I loved the copperhead too! Hey - does the sidewinder still have those flame tread tires on it? Those were awesome! Thanks for the smiles ------------------ |

Cool rides. I have seen many of these in person. Bob has the coolest job in the world. I like the Chronos the best too. Is that the V-10 PT truck? Thanks for sharing. This message has been edited by BeWare on 02-12-2004 at 05:03 PM |

Thanks for posting CJ. My personal opinion is that the Charger could still be produced in some fashion, the Razor definitely should be but probably won't be. The 300C soon to be produced has no resemblence to the 300C convertible pictured, but maybe someday we will see a 300 ragtop |

Wow CJ, thanks for the pictures! What a rare view of these beautiful cars. It is sort of sad that they are all in a warehouse hidden from view. I love the Atlantic, my wife even bought a model of it at the WPC museum for the kids to play with. Do some of these cars still go to shows / exhibitions? |

I hope D/C does not intend to send these one of a kind pieces of history to the crusher..... I do enjoy seeing the concept vehicles, especially the older ones. |

Looking at the photos, I feel like a kid in a candy store, but the candy isn't for sale. I love the Chronos! I can see James Bond pulling up in one of those babys. Thanks for sharing the great photos! |

Thank you CJ. Very nice rides. Like many others, I would have liked seeing several of these built. I was waiting for the Howler to come on line and since it did not I went with the Prowler a trailer with no regrets. Craig |
