Too cold? It's 22 deg here and dropping. I major power grid just blew up and 65,000 homes and businesses are without power since 1:30 today. We got lucky but my daughter didn't. Good thing she has a fireplace. I left her enough wood to get through the evening. Most won't be so fortunate.

Time to buy a generator. I keep a 5000 watt unit for problems such as this, just to keep the furnace and refrigerator running. You may never need it but you never know.

Got one but I'm glad I didn't have to hook it up. I may still have to take to my daughters tonight if they don't get power back. That will be a royal pain in a townhouse. Yoiu have to worry about someone stealing it. (especially if they are jealous)

Wow - you can spit and it will freeze before it hits the ground... if your face doesn't freeze when you expose it!

I have been out in -20 with a windchill of -45... that was brutal enough... I am a California boy and you put me in those conditions and I am like a duck out of water!

That's cold, Bob! I hear it's pretty cold up in Michigan with lots of snow!! Go figure......haven't had that much in 15 years!! I've been down in North Carolina, visiting my son stationed here, since last Friday. It's been unusually cold and they were part of that horrible ice storm that hit. Man, these people don't know how to drive on ice!!! They pretty much shut down the city for several days! Unbelievable! I'll be heading for home on Sunday.....with my son in tow, who is finally getting to come home for a visit!

That's great CJ......hopefully he can bring some of the above freezing temp up here and leave the freezing rain behind

He can bring whatever he wants.......lol.......I'm just glad he's able to come home for a couple of weeks. Last time he was home was last Memorial Day weekend......it's been a while. Have been spending some great mother-son time down here......which has been a rare thing since he entered the military 12 years ago.

He's doing great things and I'm extremely proud of the man he has become..................do I sound like a proud mother?? I am!!!!!!
