looking to purchase one in the near future....I have primarily owned MOPAR muscle thru the years and know very little about the Hurst cars...there were 3 of these cars on the street here in 1969....I know these cars have a few very special and hard to find parts that sometimes are missing, or replaced....looking for help in that area

Larry, my oldest son Eric is really into Cutlasses and he currently has a '70 convertible with the 455 or 456 or whatever size engine. He recently bought another 70 (?) Hurst pace car that is a frame off restoration but it is still in pieces. He sold the Hurst rims for $ 3500 a few days after buying the car and some parts just came in Friday (I know because he called me to go see if I could pick them up). I think it is getting close to being finished. He knows pretty much about those cars and has owned several other big block Cutlasses some for only a few weeks. He buys and sells parts and there is a guy in Indiana that has a junk yard just for 68-70 Cutlasses, give or take a year.
A friend of mine is in the car business and they are currently trying to sell a Hurst Cutlass for $ 35,000 or $ 45,000 and my son said he would have bought it if he had known they were going to sell it. This guy has two brothers and they are all into the older Cutlasses.
I will give you my sons cell phone number, but he is working at the fire house today, until 7 AM tomorrow. I will call him and tell him to expect a call from you and he can then give you Jerry S's and his brothers' numbers. You may or may not get Eric on the first try, according to what is going on at the fire house, or if they are out on a run.
I just called and got his voice mail. That is a first. I will try a little later and get back to you with an email.

We have a 1969 442 4 speed convertible and so far, everything we have needed to restore it can be found..what you seek is even more rare, but this internet is quite a tool when you are looking for parts...and clubs that will help you through the process.

Glad he could help you. He told me his is a '72, so you can see how much help I would have been.
