I put this shelf up a few months ago, took this picture the other night, Monday this week and the next day when I got home from work I found it all on the floor, the only damage to the car is a bad scuff on the left rear bumper..sometime one gets lucky block-buster

Next time hit a few Studs,3 brackets in 12' is the problem. That shelf would be ok if you were using it for very light things. My Motto is Overbuild, nothing wrong with excess. You were lucky, but it's a shame you lost your collectable's and stuff. Especially the Elephants that belonged to your Mom.

Glad to hear you faired out as well as you did. I also worry about that same thing happening to mine. So much so I have started construction on a 12 x 20 garage separate from the house just to store all my lawn and garden stuff. I then should be able to move the shelves elsewhere in the garage so it's not near the cat.------------------ Gary K
