I'm considering a winter project of painting my lawn tractor to match my Kat.Has anyone else done this or am I the only "anal idiot" (a buddy of mine's description of me) out here? Heck anybody can ride a boring ole' mower, but if you are cool enough to drive a Prowler you surely need a bright yellow mower with blue and purple flames! What special preparations/paint are needed for the material that the hood of a mower is made of? I'm not sure if it's plastic, fiber or some sort of composite. Help from you auto body specialists!!! ------------------

I believe Tim, the tool man, attempted this project when he was installing the all new Binford/Mopar mower Hemi. Call him at 1-800-too-lman and see how he did it. He's the best there is on things like this.

Randy - I'll give it a shot at how I would do this project:DO NOT, wash or clean the mower. Just apply the yellow paint over the existing dirt, crusty oil residue, bird droppings, and baked on old grass trimmings. Even paint the seat yellow, for added effect. Maybe add a chrome tipped header, larger rear boots, NOS system, and some AV fuel to the tank. Remember,,,,,its not how it looks,,,,its how fast you can get that damn yard mowed!!! If all else fails, see Mickey's advice on the above post.

I think they make DUCK tape in Prowler yellow. It will be much eashier to maintain, also. lol. Next you will be taking the bumpers off of the mower, getting a chrome shifter knob and removing the baffles in the muffler. You are sick, Randy. I have to go now. I am working on the riding mower. lol.

Thanks Guys.Mickey - Appreciate the tip. AC - I DON'T WANT TO MOW FAST! The front is a 1 beer job and the side is a 2 beer job. I'd like to stretch it to four or 5! Ed - I plan on keeping my mower all stock like your Prowler. Oh carp; I've already added dual cup/can holders, a mulch kit, a spreader, a bagger, etc. Can paint, exhaust system, front and rear flaps, ceramic pads, flamed bra, NOS, chrome grill, tranny cover, ..... be far behind? As we say in the South, " Ya'll done p***ed me off!". I'm gonna painted and flame it now even if my wife does commit me. This white jacket is git'in a little tight. ------------------
