Friday November 22, 1963 was like any other day for a seventh grader....rather uneventful....I was in Mr. Wanleys math class when the announcements came over the speaker about President Kennedy, it was just after lunch.....some students cried, and some like me just sat there not really understanding what had happened....for security reasons we were let out of school imediately in case the assasin headed towards New Castle Indiana I guess...I remember the teachers all huddled up in the hallway crying and not paying much attention to a fight going on by some lockers....the fight burned itself out and the teachers just kept crying.....I remember going outside and starting to walk home with a couple of books under my arm when my mother came around the corner of the block in our blue '63 Ford.....I ran over to the car and hopped in and so did a couple of my buddies from the neighborhood....it was quite a treat to ride home instead of the long walk.....my mom had been crying and was very upset about the events of the day.....after dropping off my friends at various locations she made a surprise visit to the hobby shop on the way home.....I loved to build model cars and she gave me two dollars to go in and buy one....I always had to save my money for a few weeks to afford one, so this was like Christmas.....I came out with a new kit by Revell, it was a '41 Willys, "Stone Woods and Cook" drag car.....the next few days are sort of a blur, but I remember seeing Oswald get shot on television while at my best buddies house playing records and thinking "wow, this is some good TV program"...the world seemed safe again to go out and play because good had triumphed over evil right in front of our eyes, Oswald was dead.....I remember building the model Willys a few days later while sitting in the living room watching the funeral procession on television....I sat for several hours and worked on the model on top of a TV tray.....I also remember getting several days out of school and to a seventh grader, it seemed like a great vacation .....I don't remember being sad as I really didn't understand what had happened I suppose.....I was living the "wonder years"...it was a big world out there but I just knew my own territory, a couple of blocks in either direction was all I was allowed to travel, and it seemed safe as usual during November 1963....

Let's see,,,,I was a senior then and was in the library during the hour that the news came across the class room speakers. There was a steady quiet for ten minutes before anyone spoke,,,,spooky atmosphere. The only person I remember crying was the librarian. Maybe the rest of us were at a loss of words at that moment in time?

I was off the coast of Alaska, doing a prefilght on an RD6 getting ready to transfer a USO troop to another Island, when the tower radioed us to shut down the plane and stand buy for further orders as the President had just been killed, at the time we were very close to Russia, only a short filght away, so we didnt know what to expect next, was a very sad day for me, as I was and am a big JFK fan.

I still belive our own Goverment was behind the whole deal.

Alot of folks felt this way. There is a gripping new series on the History channel that shows how LBJ, the military, and the oil industry were all in on it.

My family always suspected LBJ as his limo was always a car length away from JFK's TILL it got near that intersection and then it slowed down and was about 2-300 yards behind him.

The series on the History channel is rivetting.

LBJ was facing possible criminal charges, the military wanted the war in VN to continue and JFK was to sign an order ending it by 65 but, bringing home something like 20 or 30K troops by Christmas of the year he was killed, the oil men were furious at some tax he was going to levy on their industry.

They all met at the home of a rich millionaire oilman the night before, J. Edgar Hoover even flew in for the meeting.

I'd always suspected it and this sure seems to shed alot of light on it.

Sitting in Mrs. Kinderman's 6th grade History class. When the announcement came over the loud speaker she said "this is history you will never forget" (and I haven't)

I remember it very well, Grosse Ile, Michigan, coming home on the bus, some kid screamed that he was glad JFK was dead, I freaked, the kid knew our family were over the top with JFK, then there was a fight.

Sat in front of the tube and watched it all, my father cried, the only time I saw him do it.

After watching all the press lately I believe we have a better understanding on what really happened.

A day we all will never forget.

11th Grade in Auto Shop class, I was working underneath a car on a creeper. A friend came over and said the President had been shot. I replied, Yeah Right!. Then the announcement came over the PA system confirming the President had been shot and school was closing. Lots of folks crying on the school bus. Mostly the girls. We guys had to be tough you know. The bus driver was a woman she was also crying. The Bus was as quiet as a church. Also remember seeing Oswald shot on TV. I believe it was live TV at the time. I also remember watching the funeral prosession and JKF Jr saluting the Casson as it rolled by with JFK's casket.

I was in 8th grade. I was in the Junior High Auditorium at Band practice. We couldn't here the PA because of the music, so I didn't find out until the Assistant Principal came in and sent us back to our home rooms for an early dismissal. By the time I got home, it was being carried on every TV station that we could get.

I was 11 years old and Mother had kept us home in order for us to see the President and Jackie. She took me and my brother Douglas out to where we could see his motorcade and I saw them as plain as day and I will NEVER forget it. We lived in Fort Worth, Texas then and it was the most thrilling thing I can remember. My sister got to see Lee Harvey Oswald shot on tv the day he was killed also by Jack Ruby, but I missed that one. It took Dallas YEARS to get over that, I know I was there and lived it.

I was in my 11th grade High School P.O.D. (Problems of Democracy) class in Maryland in the afternoon on that day. Later when the President was flown home and his coffin lay in the Capitol I waited in line for 8 hours to walk past and pay my personal last respects. An experience I will never forget...

I was working at Lunkenheimer's (the one GREAT name in valves). They are long out of business. I only worked there about 6 or 8 months.
The knee jerk reaction was that we were going to war. (I was draft age, so that also had an effect.)
I remember exactly where I was standing, walking actually, when I heard it. I remember watching the funeral and John-John saluting.
I am fascinated by the entire investigation and all the theories and all the supposed cover-ups. Oliver Stone twisted the story to make his theory more believable. He stated the shots were fired in 6 or 7 seconds, when in reality it was 9.3 seconds. I have no idea if there were more shooters or if Oswald acted alone. I guess we will never know the entire story.

I was in the the 4th grade i think? I remember some of the teachers crying. People thought we were going to be Bombed by Russia. If you saw the 2 hour special the other night on ABC i think you know Oswald did the killing by himself. Its just sad he was the last president to have ridden in an open Automobile. If it rained that day he would never have died. Or if oswald didn't happen to get a job in the Book Depository a few weeks earlier. If the parade route wasn't published in the newspapers Oswald would have never gotten the idea all he had to do was take his gun to work! He was a loner, looser and wanted to be famous. What a shame he didn 't get to stay alive long enough to enjoy his own electricution! There are alot of "What If's" in this World
