Latest on the market is the nasal flu shot.No needles, just a nasal spray and you're ready for another year!

I fail to see the point of it. I, along with my entire extended family, have never received the shot. Ever.

And none of us have ever had the flu.

Why would I want to take it????

Well, I got my LAST ONE this year and I've never been sicker about two weeks later. I don't know what the real cause was, but my sister also got very sick after she got one, so that is my last one as far as I'm concerned. First of all, how do they "know" what flu is coming to vaccinate against? Are they putting it out there? Where is it coming from anyway? How do they know so far in advance which one is coming? It doesn't make sense to me anymore and the woman who gave me the shot didn't even wear gloves. NO THANKS>

I don't know how they know in advance what strain of flu is coming, but this year they were caught by surprise. There is actually 2 strains this year... the one they made the vaccine for, and another strain they haven't seen before. So, even if you get the shot for the one strain, you may end up getting the one they didn't anticipate. People that I talked to this year had the flu for at least 2 weeks, some 4 weeks. I got it and snuffed it out in 3-5 days. I don't know if it was the strain I had, or the over the counter meds I took.
