...Saturday morning, usual lazy morning...had returned from a trip "rangling old people" the day before and was just kicked back watching a little TV......my wife mentioned the police were at our next door neighbors house...being nosey I looked out the window, grunted and went to get the morning paper....I noticed the police were in front of our house too...we live on a corner and our house was surrounded now by two police cars with a third sliding to a stop from at least 60-70 mph....I knew I was wanted in New York for a parking ticket I received from a trip I never took, but this many cops, doubt it !!! I looked out the back door again and cops were walking all over our neighborhood with guns drawn, we live in a heavily wooded hilly section of town(lots of raccoons for neighbors)....a few minutes later we left to run a couple of errands and several blocks around our house were also swarming with uniforms and at least 10 police cars surrounding the area....most of the cops in town know me and we proceeded with no trouble....when we returned about thirty minutes later, we decided to sit on the second story deck at the rear of our house and watch the happenings around us.....about ten minutes later our neighbor comes charging thru the woods with a big shotgun and we all at once realize there is a bank robber lying in the weeds in the woods about fifteen feet from where we were sitting.....apparently our dog had started barking at the guy while he was making his escape on foot, and he just layed down in the brush to hide....pretty soon our house was surrounded by cops of all types and the guy was finally led away in hand cuffs, again, all within just a few feet of where we were sitting....small town life isn't always dull

Should have left the keys in the Viper you had for sale,,,,,the car has 800 miles.....performance upgrades include, cam, lightweight flywheel, head work,.....runs VERY strong...flawless....also includes a trunk mat kit, MGW shifter and a car cover.....

Now that would have been the best,,,, we all could have watched the whole high speed chase on the Tube.......

.....He was apparently a picky type guy.....I had a 2001 Vette conv. in the driveway with the keys in it and he didn't touch it ....just got the local news paper to read all the gory details and see the pictures with all the circles and arrows....turns out I know the guy.....probably won't see him around for quite a while....

Your a very trusting Guy. I wouldn't have been so relaxed with a criminal running around loose!!What if he decided to take you and your wife hostage???I would have went to my closet loaded my shotgun, went in my secret drawer and taken out my 9mm and locked the doors until he was captured. You never know what someone will do when cornered. What was he on?? you never know. I wouldn't be sitting out on my patio Sipping Iced Tea thats for sure.

CT...I eat too much to be a hostage...I would have volunteered my wife, but I guarantee you he is far better off in jail The cops would have caught up with him at the mall

Odd....in our town, the police tell homeowners to stay inside for safety reasons until the "perp" is caught, when a similar situation happens.

I can't beleive the police let the homeowners come and go with a dangerous criminal on the loose in their backyard.
