Just got word from the Lucid Eye that Wilson Pickett, 64, passed away today. MUSTANG SALLY, was one of Wilson's hits. Normally, the Lucid Eye reports to Taco Bell, but since Tangled has been calling him a flea bag lately,,,,he wired this scoop to me on the high speed wire.

One of the most popular black singers of the '60s, Wilson Pickett helped introduce the aggressive style of rhythmic style of soul music. Aided immeasurably by the excellent studio bands backing him at the Stax Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, and The Fame Studio in Muscle Shoals Alabama, Pickett scored a series of R&B and pop hits on Atlantic Records between 1963 and 1972 that included "In the Midnight Hour," "Mustang Sally," and "Funky Broadway."

Exactly Chromer,,,,I was thinking the same thing. Ed is already passed that point, lol,,,,,,and I'm not far behind.

Jeff - Lucid and I are buddies,

Ty-K - I had you pegged for a Little Richard guy?

Mr. Wilson - I'm going to pretend I didn't read that,

I do like him too, AC...I'm rather eclectic in most things--take the best each has to offer! Tends to make for better well-roundedness! Pun intended!

I told the "EYE", plain and clear.... one more screw up in the classifieds, one more missed obit, and I am dressing him in a cat costume and mailing him to Alley Cat.....we'll see how popular he is in Mesa then and if he is fast enough to outrun buckshot while wearing a cat suit...
