I think I remember having read a post of someone working in Bowling Green's Corvette plant or at least having connections there. What I try to find out are the differences from a C6 destined for the American market compared to those being sold to Europe. There's some weird information out in the American and German Corvette forums that I can hardly believe. (drilling holes in headlight assemblies, adding headlight washer and leveling system, rear fog lights, km speedometer, taillights...)Before getting in detail I'd like to check if someone here is familiar with these very special questions. Thanks in advance! embe

Yup ... they DO have headlight washers ... saw one on the line when I was down there in November driving a new Z06 ... also saw the High Performance supercharged V-versions of the Caddy XLR ... cool stuff!

Saw the V caddy last night at the container store by the mall in Schaumburg....VTXi or something...nice body accents and I assume the performance to go along with the looks.

I was told GM drills a hole into the headlight assembly to install a park position light as rewuired for European street legal cars. Customer complaints in Germany show up because this light bulb is too close to the clear headlight cover, eventually turning its color to yellow/brown (burning the plastic). An OEM drilling holes into NAFTA headlight assemblies??Also, in order to be street legal all xenon HID lights have to have a levelling system in Europe. How do they sell the Vette without this system? Next thing: They use a cheap electronic aftermarket switch to operate the rear fog light. I've been told it looks very cheap and not OEM like... All these things need to be changed for Europe, but from what I hear it sounds more like a private person preparing these export C6 Vettes than an OEM. Please correct me if I'm wrong!! (I hope these statements are wrong...)
