Watching the Toledo looters tearing up the local neighborhood live.. breaking into residences etc. Geezzz..where are those "tough" cops?? Don't know which is more disturbing, the looters or the spineless cops. I guess the cops are really only good in groups besting one person up at a time... JMFO |

I think the two sides shoud be left to go at it...Cops should just watch and clean up the mess... oh yea and shoot looters... Did the Nazi's run off and leave the cops to fight the crowd ?  |

I saw on the news the rioters throwing bricks and anything else they could find at an EMT Emergency Vehicle. I do not understand the mentality of these people that attack Fire Fighters and rescue vehicles. I don't blame the Police they are being hamstrung by being forced to be politically correct. If they had taken action against the rioters they would have been accused of being racist. If you break the law I don't care if your white black, yellow, green or whatever, you need to be dealt with severely. Shoot a few of these people (I use the term loosely) during committing these acts of violence and vandalism. Then you will see a rapid and significant decline in riots. Give them one warning to cease desist and disperse or you will be shot. |

I was on the force in Toledo and Maumee in the early 1980's and have many friends still in both departments. There is a lot to this story you will not read, and some you would not understand unless you have lived in a city like Toledo that has seen decline steadily for years. There is a good reason I live in San Diego now instead of Toledo, but I still have six siblings and many aunts, uncles, cousins, etc that still live there. Face it, the city knew this was going to happen, and over 2/3 of the police force was on duty for the event. Even with this presence, it still took four hours to contain the situation. This is a city with double digit unemployment, no economy outside of Jeep and Libbey, and a mayor with a personality of wet cardboard and a public approval rating of 12%.

I agree with Chromer...95% of big city cops are too stupid to get a job doing anything else. They can't catch robbers and killers, but DO NOT spin your rear tires on the main drag....there is revenue involved in that baby!! |

Not all my experiences with the Law have been Flowers and Candy but have to admit that they are doing a job that most don't want. The bottom of the barrel of our society is in their face all the time... often these sorrows and heartbreaks come home with them to the wives and children.... at times the emotional toll it takes is great and for some it haunts them for the rest of their lives..... the wasted youth, the child abuse, the domestic violence and so on..... My hat is off to them.... |

Well FATPAT I am A NYC Police Officer and that's a pretty big city so I am so glad you and Chromer have it all figured out about the useless Cops,God I wish I could take you 2 clueless wonders on a ride along for a week so you can get A idea of what you are talking about.Why not comment on the idiots running around setting their own neighborhood on fire but no they are the victims right?!! Get a clue pal get a clue. |

You get a clue Rat Rod...or stop at the nearest donut shop. Did it EVER enter your mind that you just might be in the 5%?? One of my best friends just happens to be a Missouri State Highway Patrol Sargent, but he is in the 5% because out of uniform you will never know he is a cop!! He isn't on an ego trip like the vast majority are!! |

Donut shop oh I have not heard that one before Look Pat I am not here to get into a P*****g match so let me just end with this If you told me 5% of cops are jerks I might even agree with you but you would have to say that about any job ,but to put almost all cops in that category is wrong and im sure your friend on the highway patrol would agree with me on that |
