I have noticed this show seems to be absent from TV these days. I guess Boyd figured out it was making him like like a total jerk.

I agree Beware. Kiddy squabbles in the shop, vehicles always seem rushed for some reason, employees saying how they wish they could do a better job. I wouldn't buy one of his cars.....Just saw a hot rod of his go for around $500,000 on a rerun of the Barret Jackson Auction, it looked hot.

Well,

If you ever get a chance to meet Boyd in person like I have, and have a real conversation with him you might find out what really goes on around the shop, and then I think your opinion will change.

Remember TV is all about ratings, more viewers means the show will be on longer, more freebies, and more money.

Phony deadlines and stupid arguments don't cut it for me. Shows like this and American Chopper have helped feed my growing dislike in store bought Hot Rods and motorcycles.
I thought Boyd went bankrupt years ago, now he's back with a new wife and making a fortune again.

Boyds is may be a different story. I (we)visited his shop, when he was in stanton, years ago many times. We did a shop tour and looked in his turn-key showroom. The Rods he build are many times in he new-age style, I call them more concept style.
The atmosphäre at California Street Rods, SoCalSpeedShop and Brizios Street Rods who are bilding more real Hot Rods,is a lot more relaxed than at Boyds. If I have to choose for a turn-key street rod project, I would go to Brizios.

I didn't say he was a jerk but the show makes him appear that way. I don't know the man so I have know idea what he is like.

I also had the chance to meet Boyd in Louisville KY.at streetrod nationals a few years ago.He was showing a 57 chev.and Lincoln Zephra and he was nice enough but that was before the show started. It appears all the upcoming shows are reruns. Also hear from local radio DJ that the head man on Orange County Choppers(Paul Sr.)had been charged with selling coke and not kind you drink.Has anyone else heard of this?I would think he has too much going for himsely to do that.Never know
