Why do we have the .9 on all gallons of gas. Was it always and can't they remove it??

it was simply a marketing tool....35.9 cents looks cheaper than 36 cents per gallon....no idea why it is still relavant at $3 per gallon....

As usual Mr. Bell is correct.

With the run to $3+, many stations with older mechanical dispensers had to go to half pricing because the totalizers would not go beyound $2.99. To do half pricing the tenths had to go to 8 vs. the usual 9.

OK easy fix,move it back to .39/9 all will be good!
