1940's Grateful Dead keyboardist Ron "Pigpen" McKernan is born. 1945


1950's Eddie Cochran signs with Liberty Records. 1956


1970's Elvis Presley receives the Bing Crosby Award for "creative contributions of outstanding artistic or scientific significance to the field of phonograph records." 1971

Trying desperately to Rock The Vote, Peter Frampton visits the White House at the invitation of the President Ford`s son, Steven. Frampton gets lunch out of the deal but both he and Ford are unemployed by the end of the year. 1976

Heart`s debut album "Dreamboat Annie" goes gold. The set contains "Magic Man" and the sizzling "Crazy On You." 1976

Guitarist Jimmy McCulloch quits Paul McCartney & Wings. His next stop is the re-formed Small Faces. 1977


1980's Peter Gabriel releases his "Security" LP. 1982


1990's The Donnas perform their first show as The Donnas at the Los Gatos (CA) Teen Center. 1995
