This race at Fontana is on a 2 mile D shaped oval... starting up front Edwards, Martin, Busch, Biffel & Johnson

Poor little E... right at the back again....he's gotta be hoping the season will get over quickly....

Its really anybodys race , Biffel won the last race here, Edwards won yesterdays Busch race....Tony is starting mid pack and always a good bet..

my picks for top five: Tony, Rusty, Martin, Edwards, & Kahne......

8pm....NBC....

shave it... brush it....race it....!

All Roush cars in the first 2 rows. A Roush car will win, just which one? Martin, Edwards, Rusty, Biffle and Khane.

I was close,,,no cigar. My pick to win, Biffel, came in second and I had the wrong Busch brother to finish in the top three.

Didn't have to eat my words about Jr. in the 8 Ball,,,,the token is out of the picture for the cup,,,,,maybe he can make more commercials now.

And how about Jeffy, dropped 2 spots and now he is in big trouble. Isn't there a popular belief that NASCAR will look for a way to get him into the chase, no matter what? If they could do that they would have done it for Jr. Did he actually say that he hopes Jeff does not get in?

I was excited about Jr. puking his engine until I remembered that my prowler engine puked 2 weeks ago and how I felt and still do feel.

Big difference - Jr. has a shop full of engines and tons of GM support, while I'm trying to scrape up the coins to get mine back together without ANY DC support!

Yep, he said it. Not in hatred, or dislike, as you all want to think. But he said it.

I do too, Jeff's a Momma's boy IMO.

But Jeff will get in, there will be a way. Can't leave the white milk out of the cereal.

I can believe that he didn't mean it like it came out, but some things shouldn't change, and that has always been one of them. My biggest problem with Jr. is his rather weak reaction, that I heard, to the MOST digusting dispay of bs I have ever seen at the track. That was when Jeff won over him at Talladega, very difficult call, and Jr. fans threw everthing and anything over the fences at Jeffs car. I always brag to the people that don't know NASCAR, that the fans are the best of any sport. That blew me and my family away. I thought Jr took the low road and it was disgusting.

Was Jr throwing things too?

Sorry, but got no sympathy for Gordon. Blame Nascar.

Talk about taking the low road, listen to most any driver (24 included), after they lose a race.

funny you should say that Tom...

I drive about 30,000 miles per year, mostly highway and you meet all kinds on the road ... but theres a few i see all the time, driving like a**wholes... tailgating, passing on the double lines, cutting in and out of traffic, speeding like crazy... these yahoos are all sporting the #3 dale E stickers on their cars ( actually most are pick up trucks)something like pissin people off they like...

anyone else notice this or is it just a Nova Scotia thing...?
I certainly hope not..

ps : Jeffy is a whiner

pps: i actually like little E ... hes got some growing up to do

Other than his being able to drive his car so darn well, I started liking Jeff BECAUSE of all the S.r fans hating him so much .You go to the races and all you here is Jeff this Jeff that, maybe it's all true, but it pushed me to want to be different and say that kid can drive , ask Sr. And after Dale left us, it was all Jr., well before he earned or deserved it. Jr. is a great driver, I wish he would have spoken up about that incident a bit stronger. He has so much pull with his fans ,as alot of these celebrities and stars do. I am bringing up 3 boys, trying to teach them how to act in good situations and bad, and you see somehting like that . It makes you shake your head. ALL these guys got to take a little resposibility and realize how some fans idolize them, that's all. Would fans of a lot of other drivers have reacted the same in the same situation? I don't know, but I don't think so. No it's not Jr's fault. How about doing what you can though?

Tom old Buddy..
you make some great points...
and i won't argue with any of them...
I must say .. I disliked Sr..... there were alot of names he should have been called other than the "intimidator"....
he dirtied more racers race after race... spin them out on the last lap...he never seemed to have any respect for his competitors.. but old school would say "well , thats racing"...
BS... he was dirty....(man is Jd gonna get me for this one)..lol

Jeffy has won alot... big money behind him... it seemed to fall into his lap.... there is no doubt of his skills... the man can drive ! ... i don't cheer for him cause i want to see some of the other guys that have been racing for years win a few... Stirling, Schrader, Rudd and I want to see some of the youngins get the fire in their eyes... just like young Busch last night... and Edwards... Kahne... etc...
I think Little E needs to suffer for a while... just so he will appreciate what he has....

thats it..Go Rusty !!!!!

I never pulled for Sr., but I think he was the best at what he did. When he needed to drive and not intimidate, he was the best. Seen it in person, his last victory, I think the best of them all. Talking about $, who has had more behind his start in Cup racing than little E? I would love to see either the 6 or the 2 go out with a championship. I still pull for good old Bobby Labonte, what happened to that part of Joe Gibbs Racing?

You guys crack me up.

How much more would you like Dale to suffer? Maybe lose his brother too?

This is a guy who was put in the limelight before his time because his Dad, (who a lot like to jump on the bandwagon now to say how bad and dirty he was as a driver), died in a race, where Jr was in second place.

You don't win races by being humble and grateful, you go out and get it.

I'm sure he would put all that money, limelight back, and be his own man, if he could have his Dad back.

Pick up trucks with #8 causing trouble. Toothless, drunk, man, that's just plain wrong. I'm sure you'll see all kinds of numbers on the bumpers.

Get a grip.

John, couldn't agree more. You do have a way of cutting to the chase with common sense. Geeze, it's just racin'.

JD, You got it wrong. I don't want anybodt to suffer, and I was shook up myself for a long time after witnessing Dales death in person. The A hole fans who throw things at other cars if they don't like what they see or hear is what I have a huge problem with. Can I critisize those Jr. fans without making Sr. turn over in his grave? Can Jr. speak up to those A hole fans alittle bit? Maybe? Or is all that part of racing to? A few choice words out of Jr. could make a difference to some of those A holes, and then racing would be better off. I NEVER saw any Sr. fans throw stuff at Jeff, as much as they hated him, after a close race or a bad call. JD,your reaction is typical of most Earnhardt family fans, say nothing negative ,ever, anytime ,regardless of the situation, of anyone connected to Dale Sr. or Jr. How about we just call them as they happen. As I said before, I never saw anyone drive like Sr. He was the best.

Debate about drivers and car makes has always been (and I hope always will be) a huge part of NASCAR.

I grew up in the 60s, somewhat matured during the 70s & 80s listening to fans debate, argue, even fight over Chevy vs. Ford, Junior Johnson vs. Fred Lorenzen, Richard Petty vs. David Pearson, Cale Yarborough vs. Darrell Waltrip, etc.

No, I don't have it wrong. Criticize who you like. I would get more info before you start categorizing people though, as you did me.

But I don't have it wrong at all.

I keep thinking that my posts on this subject have been reasonable and pretty centered. I only meant to critize and categorize the jerks who throw things and curse unrestrained at races and other events. I don't believe that I put you in that group JD. I know I didn't. I doubt if many Prowler owners are like that. If you don't like that I wish Jr. would be more vocal about that stuff, too each his own. I still think he should , as all stars should ,whether they think it is their responsibilty or not. Players going into stands, fans throwing things and going onto fields, stuff is slipping , and people need to speak up.If they don't things are gonna get worse. When I started going to races, I wouldn't have thought, in a million years , I would see a display like I saw at Talladega that day. Anything that could help prevent that again I would welcome. That can't be too much to ask without getting dumped on, can it? I do alot of youth coaching, and what we constantly preach, from fans and parents, coaches and competitors, is respect and restraint. That is what is right. Anything that can further that is a good thing. If this is debateable, then I got alot to learn. Sorry if I offended anybody.
