Saudi Air: "YOU HAVE CLEARED BOTH OUR AIRCRAFT FOR THE SAME RUNWAY!!! WE ARE ON A COLLISION COURSE!!! INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE!!! Dallas ATC: Well bless your hearts. Y'all be careful now---ya hear?"

But to be accurate from a pilot perspective (if I haven't screwed it up) ATC would clear 1 plane to land on 9R and the other plane to land on 27L. This is still the collision course stated in ATC terms.

This is still the collision course stated in ATC terms. You would be correct. You can not land westbound on runway 9. The runway number is given based on compass heading.
