TextLaddie, Hope you and your family made it out of Mandeville. My brother and his family evacuated on Sunday morning and it took them 12 hours to get to Port Arthur. It is normally a 5 hour trip. I10 was bad. My brother doesn't no yet if there was any damage to his house. Good Luck

Enclosed is a picture of the St Bernard Parish/Chalmette area. My brother and his family lived in this area. Between him, his oldest daughter and her in-laws, and his youngest daughter's in-laws they lost a total of six homes and all their physical possessions in this flood. The way it looks now it may be six months or more before any of them will be able to even get to their property to check for any thing they may be able to salvage. They are all safe and staying with friends and relatives out of the area.
