A Michigan man, his wife and 8 yr old son are dead after thier classic car collided with another vehicle.
The 1929 Duesenberg convertible had no seat belts and all family members were ejected in the crash.
Police say the driver of the other car, a 25 yr old driver of a 2001 Volvo, ran a stop sign at an Ann Arbor intersection. He was arrested and later released.
The Detroit Free Press says the Duesenberg had just completed a three year restoration. It was worth an estimated $1.5 million.

Not only that, but the car didn't belong to the (deceased) driver! He (& his Father) were paid by some West Coast car collector to restore the vehicle. Below are a couple of links re: this unfortunate incident:

This is so sad. A reckless act by someone who has no regard for others lives and three good people are gone.

Seen the news earlier today. Such a big loss in all areas. Three lives that can't be replaced and a $1.5M automobile that is nearly impossible to replace, all lost at the same time. I hope the prosecuter up there does the right thing and files the charges.

What a shame for that family and for the guy who struck them .. to live with that the rest of his life too ... so sad for those little girls.

Just saw a thing on Speed channel with Leno discovering a Dussenberg in CA somewhere and restoring it ... he has the largest collection it said, and of Stanley Steamers, wonder if he was the collector it was being restored for .. although he has a top notch shop.
