Beautiful. And the scenery isn't bad either. "Kidding". Some of my forebearers came from Germany. My grandmother migrated to the USA at the age of 6-7, I think. She used to sing Christmas carols to me in German. I knew what they were, but didn't understand her words(German). I wish I could get over there and see some of the sights.

@Kraut Here it is: ö (Ö) @halicat OK, a few German lessons and your Deutsch is better than my English Dustis, great pics but what have you done with the weather? Do you take the sun home to Alabama? Since you leave Germany it rains nonstop - some parts of Germany and Austria are flooded!

I know Marty..........that's EXACTLY what I thought quote: by Austrian Prowler: great pics but what have you done with the weather? Do you take the sun home to Alabama? Since you leave Germany it rains nonstop - some parts of Germany and Austria are flooded!
Gery, actually the weather went downhill on the 2nd day when we arrived in Germany......we only had 60's as highs for the whole week .........then we got back home and had to worry about "DENNIS" ! .....too bad we didn't manage to drive 'down' to Austria for a day and meet you .......maybe next time !

My wife and I have traveled all over Germany numerous times now (in part due to my job, which results in at least 1 - 2 trips per year there) and it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and historically amazing places I have ever been too. We have nothing in America that compares as far as historical places...how may of you have ever stood inside a building from the late 1400's??? Some of the cathedrals are simply awe inspiring!! I know what modern man can construct with all of the equipment we have today, but to look at a church that is the size of a football field inside, and realize it took 60-70 years to constuct with NO modern equipment, these guys were REAL engineers.Great pictures...as I sit here typing, just behind me on the bookcase, we must have 20 photo albums full of pics. We shoot 600-800 digital photos on average every trip. My den at home is like a travelog. We were just there in May. Alot to see there, but also if you ever get the chance drive over to Praque, Czech Republic. We just did that as part of our last trip, and it is AWESOME!!
