I could use a new work machine. I have a 1998 Jeep 5.9 with 178m. I found a yellow 2004 SSR certified at Chev. a dealer yesterday. Ended up at $31900. It has running boards and some wood in the back only, with a few other options. Only 3000 miles, and almost 2 1/2 years left on warrenty. Need to act pretty fast. Only wants to wholesale mine for $3500. Love to get some advice on the SSR, pricing etc. sandy g.

He can do a lot better on that price. GM is taking a bath on the '04's. Can't give them away. '05's have more power & fewer bugs. Word has it, given the new incentives, you can deal an 05's way down as they aren't moving EITHER. The 04's are really a dog. I would convice the dealer "You're doing him the favor!"Believe me, you are.

I'm no expert, but to get one in the high $20s & low $30s, seems like a good value to me. JMOI know the first production run of them are heavy, underprowered, etc., but they are a cool ride for an approx. $30k car/truck. In a couple of years good used ones may well go in the low $20s.

GUB if you are at 31,900 with TT&L included that is a decent deal. SSR prices around here have pretty much stabilized. You being in south florida, I can see them getting a little more for them. It's not as good of a deal as I bought my new one for, but I also bought it before summer etc. If you can get them to go lower I would try. Another reason that I got such a good deal on mine was the dealer cash incentive GM was paying to the dealer that I knew about, I don't know if that offer still exists though.Best of Luck! Ron

Tell the dealer to let you keep the Jeep. Sell it yourself for $4000 and then it is a good deal.

Everyone is right on... GM is taking a bath & you can save a lot of money on any GM product... Price out a new one with the options you do want... You will probably get more $$$ if you sell the jeep yourself... Try putting it on the market before you buy the SSR... I would also try to go to another dealer Detail the heck out of the jeep & ask what can you get for it as a trade (don't go in the Prowler, & don't mention you have a prowler) You might find that the dealer will work out a better price with you.Not to add more confusion to you decision, but I think heard the the SSR is suppose to come out with more Horsepower & better performance within the next year or so. Of course the deals going on now might not be around. WildBill

Price out a new 04, you can get a better deal. Check around on the internet. There is a dealer in the St Louis are called Reliable Chevrolet call them. You can get their number at the SSR Fanitic site. They have been selling new ones straight out for that price. Neal------------------

The "03" and "04" have a 5.3 liter engine. The "05" has a 6.0 liter 390 HP. You can also get an "05" with a 6 speed manual transmision. With all the givaway programs you can get a new one in any color in the mid 30's.

I like the Yellow one but he is firm at $3190. he will give me $3500 for my 5.9, so tax and all the other stuff with mine is about $30,800. I still have life left in my 5.9 and just spent $2000 in June fixing it up. Oh what to do. I'm trying to find a new 2004 but so far no luck..........I'm appreciating all your input!

Not much room in a SSR! Not a very good "Work" Truck! If you want a bigger bed get the Dodge Ram Crew cab With the Viper Motor. 500 HP and 500 Watt stereo Standard. Get one a year or so old in 40's i'm sure. If you buy the SSR get the Bigger engine 390 HP. JMO------------------
