email it to me and I will do it for you. OR, in windows, open up the picture in paint, click up top on image, go to stretch/skew, and stretch horizontally and vertically evenly. it starts at 100. if you go to 50 it will be half the normal size. if thats not quite what you want, then you can click up top on edit, and undo, or just increase or decrease that 50 under image, stretch again. when you get it the size you want, save it under file up top. if you would prefer to keep a copy of the original size, then on here, save as... and give it a new name. I'm at work and should be working right now but will check back on my email in case you send it. when done, i will email it back. i hope this helps. Tom, on my computer, if I click on "my Pictures" and select a paricular picture, then RIGHT click on it, I get a menu. One of the items is "resize". It is pretty simple. I do not know if that is the same on all computers, however. |

Tom, do NOT screw up on a real post. A/C claimed years ago that it was against POA policy to forgive. Sorry, rules are rules. lol |

To have the right click option to resize an image, go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx on the right side you will see a small application called Image Resizer. I almost always select the "Large" option for the resized image as it looks almost like the original, just a smaller file size. (Great for posting and emailing. Lousy for printing a permanent picture.) Install it and you will have the same image shrinking powers as Ed. Use them for good, not evil. ------------------ This message has been edited by kevina on 06-29-2005 at 02:02 PM |

Tom--- the way that I do it is to get the picture, right click, then "open with", the select "Paint" program to open your picture.... then in the paint program select "image" then "attributes", which will show you the file size. From this, I deduct how much I need to resize the picture down... if it is three times larger than it needs to be for example, then back in 'image' select "stretch/skew" and resize it down... say, for example, make it 70% by 70%. This will reduce the size... (keeping the numbers (70) the same for each direction of reduction)... now click on image/attributes again and check the file size. If it is now small enough to post, then click on file, save as, and maybe add a letter "z" or whatever after the file name that pops up..... THis way you have both the old larger image and the new smaller one. Just the way that I do it...... |

Geno, Commodore 32, got it half priced at Big Lots. The best post in a year, WHO is A/C. A legend in his own mind. lol A/C used to be the Phoenix Sun Cat. He got booted off of the board and came back as Sasquatch, then Big Foot and finally A/C. Alley Cat. He sells afghans made out of back hair. lol |
