My biggest POS had to be a '79 Chrysler New Yorker. 400 CI engine crippled by late 70's emission controls. It ran great...WHEN it ran - lots of probs with carbs. One of the few cars I've owned that I DON"T have pictures of!

I have owned lots of cars, trucks, and suv's by various manufacturers. The most problem prone, and unsafe feeling vehicle I have ever had was a 1984 Ford Bronco II. And, as we all know, Ford dropped the line after many roll over issues. I would never drive that suv on the highway without both hands on the wheel, in a death grip. It was also plagued by oil leaks, and electrical issues. Not to bad mouth Fords, I have had many that exceeded 250K miles with no major issues. This particular vehicle was just the spawn of the devil....aka Christeen!

I've owned all sorts and makes of cars over the years, and most of them were pretty good. The biggest POS I ever owned was a Honda VTX motorcycle. Damn thing spent more time at the dealer than it did in my garage. I was so happy to finally unload it, and will never own a Honda again (car or bike).

..rare, beautiful, expensive.....this CUDA had it all, but it wins the MECHANICAL A$$HOLE award of any car I ever owned.....it was found half buried on the Ohio river bank....stripped, rusted etc etc....several years later it was revived and I bought it.....the car really sucked big time, no traction, overheated, rattled, wouldn't start all the time, carbs squirted gas like a garden hose.........I kept it a short while, showed it a few times, put about 50 miles on it and sold it to a guy in Florida....made some good $$$ and never looked back....

1983 New Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta = POS/POC Supreme

Owned for 10 months. If it had any fluids in it,,,,it leaked. Oil leaks, p/s fluid leaks, tranny leaks, coolant leaks, etc. Spent more time at the Chevy dealership than on the road. The techs would get a leak stopped, release car back to me,,,,,then it would start leaking something else. Repeat cycle every two or three months. Lost $1500 on that car when I sold it,,,,,and felt good about that, lol.

One of my 1st cars was a '58 Ford convertible...probably one of the prettiest cars I've ever owned. Dummy spots, tube grill, '57 Ford Hood, 352/360 HP engine out of a '60 Starliner, 4 bar Lancer hubcaps on the front, cruiser skirts on the rear with spun aluminum Moon Discs...this car was a knockout and ran like Jack the Bear (when it ran) It was nothing more than a beautiful piece of junk.

56 English Ford. 4 cylinder running on 3. Floor rusted out, smoked to beat the band. Carried a gallon of oil around-cheapest I could find. Paid $250 for it and sold it for $250. Crappiest new car--69 XKE, Bought new. Anything that held fluid leaked. I beat on it mercilessly though. Someone put me out of my misery by stealing it. Might have been Uncle Vito.

The year was 1963. A Beautiful 1954 Mercury 2dr hardtop. Looked great but what a mess mechanically. Motor burned oil, vapor locked, bad rear main seal and was dog tired slow. Got beat in a drag race by a bone stock '50 Ford with a 6 cyl. I wanted a stock 1938 Ford 2dr. humpback sedan for $400.00 but my Old Man made me by the Mercury for $450.00 instead. Both would be great to have today though !

1973 Vega Sation Wagon - Orange with vinyl woodgrain sides. My first company car - got it with 43,000 miles on it from another sales rep that left the company (maybe the car was why). Come to think of it, that is what I was driving when my first wife left me.

I would put 2 quarts of oil in everytime I filled the gas tank.

What a jewel!

It would make a good drag car now!

Howard - that car makes me not feel so bad about driving a 73 Vegawagon with vinyl woodgrain siding!
