...I wish I had a pix, but I dont....

....the seat mods post reminded me of a car a buddy of mine owned about 40 years ago....it was a 56 Chevy conv that was highly customized....front to back it was totally custom....it was painted Gold Metalflake which was kinda popular in the mid sixties....it had great body work, and paint, a new white top, chrome wheels, white walls and absolutely NO interior except the dash....

...everywhere we went in the Chevy we sat on metal milk crates in the front(easily moveable to load passengers)....the rear seats were concrete blocks...the car was lowered to the point the side pipes scraped the street nearly all the time....the diamond shaped exhaust tips were flattened and shaped like triangles after a few weeks dragging on the street....we cruised alot that summer in the 56...it was a really hot lookin street custom....it went thru several owners and finally a neighbor kid of mine ended up owning the Chevy....no one ever installed an interior in the car the last 10 years or so it was on the street, just crates and concrete blocks...not really sure where the car finally ended up at, but to this day the car still comes up in conversation from time to time among guys of my generation...."hey, wonder what ever happened to that custom 56 Chev, you know the gold one with the etc etc etc .........."
