Anyone know of a good webhost and domain registrar at a low low price? I currently use a webhost that gives you free hosting, free email, frontpage extensions, etc.(no popup, banners, or anything.........really free!) if you register your domain through them, but their server is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow. I currently pay them $30 per year for the whole package. I am willing to pay a little more to get faster page uploads. I do need the host to be able to work with frontpage extensions. I would appreciate it if anyone can recommend a good, low-cost host for me. Thanks |

I have a sigificant number of domains registered with godaddy.com and they are the BEST I've found by far. I seriously doubt you'll find hosting anywhere for less than $30 a year that's even worth having, but these guys have hosting that starts at $3.95 a month with a 99.9% uptime guarantee. My experience with them would dictate that all of your current issues will go away immediately, and I would think you won't find a legimiate offer from a substantial company for anywhere near that price anywhere else. These guys do a great job This message has been edited by BuckNekkid on 04-27-2005 at 02:39 PM |

Yup, GoDaddy is the 600 lb gorilla in the web hosting space these days. But it might be wirthwhile to check out Globat.com. They occasionally run some screamin' deal specials and offer many different hosting options (data throughput, databases, email, storage, etc). I've used them before - graet service, no probs. by the way - REAL webmasters don't use FrontPage!! |

Thanks everyone. Is GoDaddy.com fast enough? With my current host I have to wait a long time to get pictures to load, and I have high-speed!! |

godaddy.com seems like a good deal - just waiting to hear some comments about their speed. I registered a new domain name with yahoo business services. Can anyone tell me what I have to do if I use godaddy as the host? THe service I currently use both registered and hosted so there wasn't too much linking required. |

Really depends on how much bandwidth you need, if your site is going to be fairly static, how many folks will be using it, need of a Db for a variety of things. If this is just personal use, Yahoo Business is not bad. Not sure of the price but, they are pretty cheap and give you all you've asked for. |

I am considering Netsol.com. it is 9.95 a month for e-mail, 1 gig of disk space @ 10 gig per month web transfer, sql and mysql, perl and so forth. Both unix and M$ servers are options, and free domain registration with purchase. Can't really beat one of the major players on the net. I run my site off of www.freewebs.com I dot commed through them, and my site costs me $20 a year...they host the site...the biggest drawback for me, being a novice, is I can't use Frontpage with it...although they have a handful of cheap looking templates which work pretty nice...the ease of use goes a long way for someone like me... |
