...about 20 years ago we lived at the edge of town next to several farms....people dumped kittens in our neighborhood constantly....I usually helped the lost kittens find their way to another neighborhood real quick, so as not to delay their travel plans....

...one cat in particular decides it is going to stay at our house....I take it for a ride....next day the cat is back sleeping on top of my car....the cat and I go for another ride, further this time....a major fight with the cat upon arrival, seems he has wised up to the long walk home routine....I am nearly clawed to death and his tail nearly came off when I pulled the little bastird loose from the carpet under the seat....3 days later the cat is back sleeping on my car again....after a small chase in the garage I caught him again....I had on gloves this time and a plastic baseball bat to even the score....it was dark and we were going to my mothers house far across town, she said she would keep the little monster...

...I had the cat restrained with one hand and driving with the other....about half way to her house the cat went psycho, clawed me, bit me, and started jumping all over the interior of the car....leaped on my chest, clawed the sh!t out of me while I was driving, yeowled a terrible scream and jumped out the drivers side window while I was doing about 55 mph....unfortunately for old Fluffy, the oncoming car caught him dead on....last thing I remember seeing was that furry little bastird flying thru the night air in the glare of my tail lights....

......................still hate cats to this day.....

We just lost our cat Mew Mew of 18 years ( I knew her for 9 ... cat lived with me longer then her owner, my wife did) I hated cats before her -- period! But ... somehow ... she changed me ... Mew Mew would sit on my belly (wasn't as large as now, so I give her credit) when I visited her mommy for those um, well ... conjugal visits in Florida those long miles away from the midwest. Actually, I grew VEERY fond of Mew Mew and even when she moved in before the other "feline", I didn't flinch or anger when she picked at my leather couch's (she had all claws and was an out door cat by nature). I learned and got her scratching boxes. After we married, I found it humorous when she would bring in LIVE mice from out side for us humans to dispose of for her ... she WAS the perfect friend, companion and her purrrrs soothed me during the passing of my mother and my aunt. She still brings a tear to my eye as I write this. I am sure the Jack the Wonder Dog's owner can relate to this ... except its a CAT and not a dog ... OK ??? SO ... we have a new kitten, after all, we have a 5 year old and she NEEDS a pet ... OK, so NOW we have 2 kids ... sheeeesh what was I thinking ... I am in Vancouver, a kitten with all four claws is in MY house in the midwest and there is a NEW unmarked leather couch that is at stake .... HELP!!!

we are finally out of the furry pet business....

our cat died at 14 years old....
last dog run over in our own driveway....

I now have an aquarium...

don't have to feed them daily
they don't shed
they don't pi$$ on my car tires(had a cat years ago that liked to take a crap in my car cover while it was on the car)
they don't bark all night
no flees
they don't pi$$ on new carpet
don't have to walk them in the winter
they don't claw furniture
no vet bills
no burial, (the other fish eat them)
no unwanted stray turds to step on in the night..

I really do like pets....just tired of taking care of them ...prefer grandkids

I've already told Taco Bell that I drive them 15 miles away,,release them, and dare them to find their way back. They have three major freeways to cross,,,,and nobody slows down below 85. None have returned,,,so when I get big yellow I'm giving him a map.

Ray,
...eat lots of corn before the flight, the added shrapnel should hit the target...

....my grandaughter Lauren is nearly 4 years old now....I keep her several days a week, when ever I am needed....she is my little buddy, a real sweetheart....we went Prowlin' tonight to visit my parents....I try to take her out there as often as possible....my sister was killed when she was 4 years old, and Lauren looks and acts alot like her.....my parents really enjoy the visits....

...Lauren and I ride bikes together, play ball, spend lots of time coloring ....I have her hooked on Mr. Ed and the Munsters already....we go to the Dairy Queen for ice cream in the summer, go to the park....have a great time, just the two of us during the day....we keep her as often as possible on the weekends, trips to TOYS R US, etc etc....great times....those little hugs and kisses are the best medicine ever.....

I am watching a 3 year old granddaughter and a 5 year old grandson for 24 hours this Thurs-Friday evening. They are hilarious at that age.

Blue: Funny you should have that story. Jamie was on her way back up to college a few weekends ago. There was a pickup ahead of her with the windows down on the interstate. The next thing she knows a cat jumped out of the window and was skidding across the freeway in front of her. Not wanting to hit the cat she swerved doing 70 to avoid it and almost lost control of her PT. Luckily it wasn't raining and no one was in the lane next to her. She was able to recover, but called me from the side of the road where she had to pull over because she was shaking so badly. After finally getting back up to college and while unloading her car, she noticed something fuzzy all over her grille. Upon closer inspection it was clumps of cat fur from when the cat was skidding across the road. I told her the next time to never swerve for an animal unless it's a cow!!!

On another note, people drop off cats all of the time at our house since we live out in the country. Unfortunately there is no local SPCA that we can take them to and most times we can't even come close to catching them. Ken finally caught a feral cat that we were afraid might bite the kids and took it about 4 miles away from the house on his way to run some errands. While he was pulling back up the driveway a couple of hours later, that same cat was also walking back up the driveway. Ken was not thrilled!! T

Dear Tangled Up in CATs & Monahans,

I dearly enjoy Echo taking ME for a walk every afternoon! Goldfish (or any kind of fish) would be too slow...as I tend to walk at a dog's pace~LOl Grandkids-R-NOT-Me, Ty-K
PS: Echo keeps her GPS charged, so I'm not too worried about re-finding our house (her house?) at walk's-end!

Cats show up here all the time and I take them out to farms and drop them off but like you said I had one that kept coming back so she now lives here at the shop and has gained about 20 pounds since arrival, and yes I have become attached.

Also anyone want 7 toed black kittens, we have a black 7 toed female at the farm and she is ready to drop and the last 3 batches all of the black ones had 7 toes, she is pretty big so I will guess we will get 3 or 4 of them.
