Anyone watch this evening's news!? They're talking of a bill banning homosexual (gay/lesbian) books & literature in ALL Alabama Public Libraries! Wow! Altho' I'm personally TOTALLY AGAINST homosexuality--I defend their right to be...to exist...to have literature available on the shelves! And in Florida...talk of giving the private citizens the RIGHT to shoot first--and ask questions later. Oh! Man! Imagine a quarrel with a neighbor & being blown away cuz your neighbor felt endangered! Jeez! You're right, AC. It's the end of the world, I tell ya'!!! ------------------

We are losing more of our rights all the time. Different strokes for different folks,,,,,,,, It's the end of the world,,I tell ya,,,,,,,,,the end of the world!! My kick now is about the law being able to search your car, after you are pulled over for a traffic violation. What is the probable cause? My Fourth Amendment Rights are being denied!

After they search, they don't put the stuff back like you had it.

What amazes me is the way we are all treated as suspects at an airport but yet we have wide open borders. We have the moat inside the castle, I think we would be better off if the moat was outside. I went to the National Aquarium in Washington D.C. recently and had to go through a metal detector.

I wish they would pass a shoot first ask later law in Illinois!! It's scary that a home intruder can sue you for getting hurt in your house that he illegally breaks into. I thought that once he breaks the law all resulting problems are his fault...or something like that??

Now THAT is funny, AC...I've lived here since 1971 except for 2 years away in Crete, Greece--and it is still a highly prejudiced place IMO!!

TyK - Maybe that will change after another generation or two? I thought that situation would diminish when Bear Bryant recruited some black football players, many years ago. Seems the hatred was continued to be taught in the home, so it takes time for those views to change. Nowadays, no place for that to exist. Aren't they still fighting the Civil War in the South? Spread the word,,,,,they LOST.

The civil war fanatics in the south are called militias in the north and right wing extremists in the west. Go to any state and you will have these kinds of nuts. They are just packaged different. Around here and where ever I travel it seems as though people outside of the south make more of a deal about it than anyone I know. As for me, my world is a little larger so I tend to ignore the ignorance wherever I go (hope that doesn't make me ignore-ant)..This message has been edited by dbudner on 04-27-2005 at 08:45 AM
