Indycar racing is good. It's just that I have always liked NASCAR better - been a fan since the early 60's. |

that's 19K RPM Larry. pretty cool about the lack of valve springs... that's what allows them to rev so high. I think Renault is working on a totally hydraulic system that will eliminate the cams. |

Yup,,,Al, typo. I knew they were revving to 17,500 a while back. I believe they had hydraulic pump lifters a few years back that were banned. Strange that their technology is way ahead of ours?

Anyone ever seen an Ariel Atom? http://www.arielmotor.co.uk/ It supposedly can be made street legal for the US (it's made in England). Basically, a Honda VTEC engine on a go kart chassis. It's supposed to give a whole new meaning to "acceleration".... This message has been edited by cstall on 04-02-2005 at 10:05 PM |

They used to have "Malibu Grand Prix" race tracks.. 'down south'... I know there was one in Austin years ago... they still have those? They were 'scaled-down' Indy cars! Fun to drive around the track. |

I like indy cars.... just don't watch them.... they are like the figure skating of the racing scene, "not that there is anything wrong with that", i'm more of the hockey type..pushin , shovin.. and from time to time a little fightin... i ain't shaving my back and going to the dentist for anyone ! go Rusty ! quote: Indy racing blew it... CART and IRL had their big flap at about the same time NASCAR was experiencing their explosion in popularity. Greed... plain and simple. |
