Yah yer right Buddy it was a gas, undoutably the best trip of my life. But was wondering about the lable on the car stating to use 91 octane,if all the gas is 87 why should we pay the extra for the higher octane? Are all stations like that or just the rip off ones charging for for one thing but giving you a lesser quality. Meancat Im not picking on you but if it is this way accross the board then I should switch to the lower octane price if in fact its the same fuel. block-buster ------------------ |

I heard on the news yesterday expect gas prices to be up another 15c a gallon this summer, when demand is high! ------------------ This message has been edited by CTProwler on 03-10-2005 at 03:50 PM |

I don't understand how the price of a barrel going up a dollar or two translates into a 20 cent increase per gallon. Isn't a barrel 55 gallons? That should work out to about 2 cents for every dollar increase. I must not know the entire story. |

Curtis, Meancat only has 1 tank in the ground to service all of Moddersville and the surrounding communities so he can only carry 1 grade of fuel. Problem is not with him passing off 87 for 91 but passing off 87 for Diesel. Also when I was there after the fuel truck left and Jerry went out and stuck a green hose in the tank, when I asked what he was doing his lips started flappin and his hands started waving tellin me he was putting a TOP SECRET additive in the fuel to help keep the Air clean around Moddersville. ------------------ |

Too late Kim,,,,I've already called the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to report that special additive that Jerry adds to his regular unleaded diesel fuel 'mix'. Furthermore,,,,I'm nearly ready to accept the Moddersville Mayor position as soon as Jerry is arrested, booked, tried, and convicted. Do they serve alcohol to the inmates at the Michigan big house? |

Ed - one of those Saudi oil ministers was on tv yesterday,,,stating they could supply the U.S. all the oil we needed, but that isn't the existing problem. Besides China buying mega-tons of oil,,,,we haven't had any new gas refineries built in the U.S. during the past two decades,,,hence we are now at our capacity to turn oil into gasoline. Supply and demand = oil companies set the prices = huge profits. As someone said,,,"Doesn't matter if it's $7 bucks a gallon--nobody will quit driving! Whatever the gas price--izza Moot Point" Moot Point? Hmmmmmm,,except the status quo or start screaming for new refineries to be built. I'm taking the side of the latter. |

perhaps no new ones built might very well be true... but look at how many you see that are sitting idle... I know they are in Texas at least.......... Holes drilled, oil found, capped.......... for now |

Okay, I filled the tank of the PT Turbo this morning at our corner Marathon station. I paid $2.19 for premium. When we passed by there this evening, premium was now $2.35. This message has been edited by CJ on 03-11-2005 at 12:24 AM |

Cheapest I can find is $1.89 (Regular grade) at the Wal-Mart service station. That's if you use their shopping card of course. It just blows me away to see the rising prices. Someone is getting $$$RICH$$$ off the high prices and it definitely isn't any one of us! Have a good day everyone and...for us northerners..."Think Spring". Have to go out and shovel an additional 8". Brian This message has been edited by TooHipCat on 03-12-2005 at 10:32 AM |

Maybe I should invest in oil, but how much higher can it go????? Knowing me if I bought in now gas would go back down to .99 a gallon. |

A calf under a pipeline I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how oil wells and pipelines devastate the environment. Clearly, they don't. Instead, they make America more energy independent. And withdraw profits from countries that support terrorism. And create good-paying jobs for Americans. Oh, and did I mention LOWER GAS PRICES? |
