Just a note about what I have been up to; I and several others are in the process of opening a Racers For Christ Garage. RFC Garage is a venue of Team RFC which has been “Bringing Inspiration to the World of Motorsports” for over 27 years and the garage will be “A Clean, Christian Place Where Youth Only Get Their Hands Dirty” and can gather to be offered the opportunity to be mentored by fellow Christians on the aspects of automobile racing, rodding and restoration while surrounded by a Christian atmosphere. This would give youth an opportunity to become involved with something Christian, rewarding and wholesome. RFC Garage would give them hands-on participation with something to do while seeing how the love of Christ has influenced the lives of others. The Christian mentors will be able to share the gifts that have been bestowed on them while being examples of how Christ has influenced and changed their lives. You can learn more about Team RFC at http://teamrfc.gospelcom.net or http://www.rfcregion3.org/ Team RFC is a part of Christian Motorsports International Inc. RFC Garage is a 501c3 not for profit organization and operates on donations; we have a waste oil heater coming soon but we still need several items before any major projects begin such as: a large compressor, paint booth and sheet metal equipment (brake, bead roller, etc). Since there will be room for seven or eight projects going on at the same time and although I have several tools of my own there are several items and tools that would be nice to have. Tools & equipment:Hand tools … Tool boxes … Specialty tools … Jack stands … Floor jacks … Paint booth and equipment … Vehicle lift … Body tools … Welding equipment … Power tools … Sheet metal tools and equipment Supplies:Oils & fluids … Waxes & polishes … Towels … Sand paper Items of interest:Pool table … Pin ball machine … Display cabinets … Neon signs, banners, tin signs, etc … Video equipment to record seminars … TV, VCR and stand … Sound system … Microwave The base cost of overhead is still estimated at between $1500 and $2000 a month and this is without any funds for projects.
