My boys told me last night that the movie being shot in town is War of the Worlds and that Tom Cruise is on the set.

They have been lighting the town up at night so it looks like daytime and there has been lots of smoke. They have Red Cross tents and a diner set up... all kinds of stuff.

Its fun living in this little town where they film so many movies.

Cliff---Tom Cruise was in Naugatuck CT in the fall for a shoot for the War of the Worlds movie also. It will be interesting seeing both CT and Cali in the movie! I remember seeing the orignal when I was a kid in the theatre. It scared the crap out of me! They filmed Stepford Wives in New Canaan CT if you have seen that movie.

I just can't imagine cruise in that classic.

I bet they'll update it with an 05 look, a view nude scenes, cussing, etc.

Some movies should just not be remade, IMO.

Yellowfever-- I love sci-fi movies. He must play the scientist who flys the plane over the spaceships and crashes into the house. Wonder who's playing the Priest's Daughter?(Paris Hilton). Remember her scream when he walked out and repeated As I walk thru the valley of death I fear no evil etc. He got toasted by the Martians! Classic! Unbelieveable they died because of earths diseases! Go figure, we didn't re-cycle back then! They wouldn't have won many tag team Wrestling matches either! Skinny little freaks! They must not have any MCdonalds up on Mars! I'm looking forward to it! Hope its out in the drive-in when we are @ Wisconsin Dells event! (Bob)?

Same here. Love the old ones. War of the Worlds and The Day the Earth Stood Still are my all time favorites.

I love the one where they find a spaceship frozen in the Artic. The remake. Some serious special effects there. I think its called the Thing? There is a 3 day mini series movie starting I think Feb 22nd on Sci FI channel, looks interesting.

Hard to beat any of the Alien movies... the second was the best. Tom paxton played a great roll in that one....

I liked Independence Day but thought they could have found someone better than Will Smith.... don't much like his style of smart mouth acting.
Mr Rogers would have done a better job... " Geez boys and girls , we have some aliens in our neighborhood "
