What is the worst city you have ever driven in ?What is the best city you have ever driven it ? base your answer on quality of drivers on the road and ease of finding your way around. 1) worst.... Montreal, Quebec... hands down the most dangerous, scary place i've ever tried to drive through... all the cars are going twice the speed of sound, bumper to bumper !! all the cars have dents... they have no-fault government insurance. all the signs are in french and every driver is smoking and givin you the finger.... now when i drive cross canada.... i plan to go through montreal at around 3 am to miss the total insanity. 2) best.... Calgary, Alberta....people are nice , polite and everyone seems to be smiling....all the roads are straight, all the streets are numbered, avenues run east to west, streets run north to south.. you can take any adress and without ever being there before and find your destination.. but best of all.... you can pull over to take a leak anywhere and nobody minds !

LA during rush hour (which from what we saw goes from maybe 6am until 9:30pm) would be one of the worst, and I do recall Boston being very 'tight' due to the street widths.Best, mmmm anywhere in Texas or maybe Montana ... lots of open roads!

None of the above choices are nearly as bad as "the strip" in Arrow Rock, Mo. Every now and then, someone rides a horse down to the Old Tavern. Dodging all those droppings is murder. LOL

I haven't been there yet, but Atlanta usually gets the vote for worst city to drive in.Houston had good roads, but the worst on-ramps onto the freeway system I've ever seen - too short of distance to enter the merging area = nearly impossible to be up to speed, causing everyone to hit the brakes. Sioux City, Iowa - worst design of city streets. Nothing goes east-west, north-south,,,the city is laid out in a diamond pattern of angles. Detroit, Mi - worst pot hole city. No wonder they don't sell many imports there,,,,the car would disappear into the pot holes!!! I could see what inspired SUV's by driving through there. California - Arizona, nicest, smooth roads for the most part due to good weather = worst drivers! Speed is not an option, its your survival to travel. If you enjoy driving 90mph on your way to work, Az is the place to risk your life,,,its common place. The influx of elderly, winter snow birds from the northern states, create many problems on the surface streets - drive too cautious with the wrong turn signal left on - have no idea where they are going.

Atlanta does stink and I have to say Montreal is right up there too. I think Newark, NJ during rush hour on the 1-9 may take the cake though.

I got caught once in London's roundabout in a rental right hand drive....I mean talk about feeling like Chevy Chase in European Vacation! I agree with Helicat....Montreal is one of the worst with all the one way streets! As long as I'm not caught in rush hour traffic...I really don't care what city it is!

LA is definitely the worst city I've driven in. SoCal loaned me their Prowler for a weekend a couple of years ago and I'd never driven there, let along the freeways! Scared the livin' daylights out of me! Never again! Lived in Colorado for many years.......never had any problems there.

For me the worse has to be L.A. The bumper to bumper traffic just seems to go forever.Best Kansas City. Decent roads and not many potholes.

I'd have to say that Las Vegas was one of the easiest cities to drive in. You have to be careful with all of the tourists gawking (inluding myself) but it's so flat out there that it's nearly impossible to get lost. You can practicall see the building you're looking for when you're miles away. Just head in that direction and you get there eventually! DC is easy to navigate but I felt that I had to be very aggressive in order to keep moving. We had a heck of a time just trying to get INTO New York city. Seems like we kept taking a wrong exit and we somehow managed to go over the bridge into the city. Once in the city it was one scary place to drive lol.

The worst two are Hanoi, Viet Nam (I didn't get to actually drive, they drove us around) and Kathmandu, Nepal. Both cities are full of brain-dead guys riding mopeds who think they own the road.Washington, DC is pretty easy if you understand how the city is laid out.

I’m sorry. I know we have some very active members that live there but …I haven’t driven in LA or New York. But I have driven to the East Coast, Florida, Texas, and Colorado from Indiana. I’ve driven in San Francisco and Seattle. Hands down my worst driving experience was Houston. I never dreamed that downtown on a weekday at 10:00 am would be bumper to bumper at least 4 four lanes wide. I can’t image what rush hour would have been like. It’s the first time in my life that I used a toll road by choice. And even that had overpasses six stores high with nothing underneath them. Only the hospitality of Mike and Judy would allow me to brave those streets again …

I thought Dallas was really bad. I was on the motorcycle and the idiots would cut in front of you and then slam on the brakes to make a right turn. You then had to accelerate as quickly as possible to avoid being run over, only to have another idiot cut you off. Sandy was at a convention at the Airport so I had several days of sightseeing. The circle freeway was evidently extended out toward the airport. I was in one of the left lanes going straight. The road was banked for the old curve so I almost went airborne at about 70 MPH. I was not expecting that on an expressway.

I have to agree with Ed on the dallas issue... I was there for 5 days , rented a car at the airport.... drove it to the Hotel and left it in the parking lot the whole time...Just the taxi ride from the airport to the car rental office scared the bejesus out of us.... this guy that looked just like Yassar Arafat ( table cloth head wrap and all) was the cabbie and nearly crashed us in the first 50 ft of our ride.......but the deciding factor is parking the car is that we realized that probably half of the people on the road had guns on the front seats...

Just got back from LA - it's the worst on my list! You spend a long time getting nowhere. Ask for directions - waste of time. No one knows where anything is or how to get anywhere!!

Depending on when you were there, probably due to construction of the toy train (that is a complete disaster) that they wanted done in time for the superbowl when it was there. Or perhaps an accident (with the toy train). Other then that, traffic is fairly modest for the 4th largest city in the USA
