A friend of mine who i met this year at Viper Owners Invitational Bought a one of a kind 1999 Prowler that Chrysler built for the 99 Detroit Autorama Auto Show. It looks like it has Tom Mills relo light Kit and Rear belly pan from TGF. It was the only Hemi Orange Prowler (310HP) Chrysler ever built. It has gold pearl ghost flames. CJ & Bob do you remember it? He sold his 1969 COPO White Camaro for a world record price. ($201960.00) ------------------ This message has been edited by CTProwler on 02-04-2005 at 06:20 PM |

The Kat pictured above was owned by Nyle Wing aka Donut. The car was custom painted by Nyle. Nyle owned his own body shop and did a lot of custom work. He called the color Bad A$$ Orange. The ghost flames were painted with crushed gold glass mixed into the paint. Before this car was orange it was a Red Prowler with yellow and white flames. When I last saw this car at the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2001 it did not have any different motor in it than any other Prowler. Technically speaking all Prowlers have hemispherical heads on the V6. I told Jerry Scholten that I had heard some people refer to it as a baby Hemi. He replied that technically this was correct. Since the new generation Hemi (to my knowledge) did not exist in 99. It would be hard for me to believe to they shoe horned an original Hemi into a Prowler. Have you personally seen the car? I hate to say this but I think the car your friend purchased was mis-represented. It definitely was if its the car pictured above. If its not the same car I could be wrong, however the POA has pretty much documented every Prowler built by Chrysler including the one and only black Chrysler Prowler built for Tom Gayle. This is the first time I have ever heard of an Orange Prowler built by Daimler / Chrysler, much less one with a Hemi V8. JMO This message has been edited by BeWare on 02-04-2005 at 01:58 PM |

I believe Chuck is saying that it is a Hemi orange Prowler with 310 hp, not a 310hp Hemi. I had to read that twice to understand it. |

MD , I still don't read it that way. Hemi(310HP) implies the motor size to me. Bob Longstreth was involved in all of the custom one offs. He has never mentioned an Orange with a Hemi or a Hemi Orange Prowler being built. |

Nyle Wings' car as Be Ware stated. Nyle lost the engine shortly before he sold it. It was a stock replacement engine. Don't know where its been but you can easily reach him is there are any specific questions. |

He just told me it was a Hemi orange prowler 310 Hp and it really burns rubber. It was built for 99 Detroit Autorama Show! If its 310 Hp it's not a stock prowler engine. This guy is best friends with one of the big shots at Manheim Auto Auctions. He is best friends with one of the Barretts! I know those guys know cars. I didn't ask what he paid. But 0ver $200000 for a 69 camaro, he isn't a idiot either. All I know is what he emailed me. Picture looks like the same one that was posted from the front. I didn't see a POA shot posted on the rear. I'll email him and ask about the engine. ------------------ This message has been edited by CTProwler on 02-04-2005 at 06:22 PM |

Chuck - thread title: "Friend just bought a Prowler at Barrett Jackson". Are you sure he bought it at the Barrett-Jackson auction??? NO Plymouth Prowlers were in the auction - http://www.barrett-jackson.com/events/scottsdale/vehicles/makelistnb.asp?auctionid=51&makeid=1960 List above, is all the Plymouths in the auction. I also checked the Chryslers,,,NO Prowlers there either. I went through every car of the 878 sold at the auction,,,NO Prowlers. If he did purchase Nyle Wing's Prowler [which was an awesome cat],,,,and they claimed it was something else,,,the car was misrepresented. |

quote: There are cars sold at B-J that do not go across the block. That could be the case with this car. The pictures shown are for the "Donutman" Nyle Wing. Replaced the motor before the selling. 220 hours into the repaint. Have your buddy check for red paint, I'm sure it is somewhere. Nyle is a super auto restorer. From talking to him an average Wing Job would be in the $15,000 range........definately not an Earl Schieb paint job It wasn't built for a show, it was built because he was bored over X mas one winter, custom mixed the paint with crushed glass. I was not able to see it clean in the sun but even driving in the rain going to H*LL looked good |

I got a email from my friend. Its not Nyle Wings Prowler. It is The Hemi Orange Prowler that was made by Marcelo Gaffoglio ( MetalCrafters) He has the Documentation from Chrysler to built it for the 1999 Autorama. He spoke to Marcelo recently and he knows his car well. It does resemble Nyles. I was chatting with him about Barrett-Jackson Auction when he told me he Sold his Camaro for a World record price. He then told me he bought the Prowler. He might not have bought the prowler @ Barrett Jackson, I just assumed it. Hope this clears everything up. There isn't much going on in the prowler world you guys don't know about! AC Email me and I'll give you his email address if you want to get together with him to see his Cars and straighten this out! ------------------ |

Quote by wildcat: "There are cars sold at B-J that do not go across the block." True,,,, There were over 5,000 cars submitted to B-J for the Scottsdale auction, and 934 were selected to go through the ring with "no reserve". I see 878 went through, so another 50 cars didn't make it into the auction hall for one reason or another,,,,maybe sold before entering??? Chuck - sending you an email. |
