Well after 25 years of service at a tier one automotive supplier, I decided to pull the plug. Well after 16 hrs of retirement I picked up a consulting job and after two weeks I went to work for them full time. I do not know how Ed Monahan and Tom Mills can handle the excitement of retirement. I do have to admit that working outside of the the auto industry is a lot less stressful and more laid back. I guess I will try retirement again at 86 like my grandfather.

Neal, the trick is "when you feel a surge of energy, just lay down until it passes". lol. Slackers, that is what we are.

I believe Red Green produced many tips for Retirement Style Living..... He suggests we make it a life long practise of avoiding work, women, and responcibility...

sounds like retirement to me...

ps: have lots of duct tape on hand at all times..

Both Pat and me are retired, around 14 years ( time flies by when you having fun ). What we have been doing is acting like 16 year olds on summer vacation from high school from day one of our retirement. Have fun, don't worry about anything and don't worry about money. You don't have too be rich to have fun.Remember you are now a 16 year old, a little money goes a long way. A teenager with a Prowler, let the fun happen.

Pumpkin, I too retired from Navy (Nuclear Machinest Mate). I tried retirement for a few months, it almost drove me nuts, so I sent my wife to work. . I soon missed seeing the world/travel and decided to go back to work to support that bad habit. I figure I will try it again in 10-12 years, when everything is paid off.

That is the worst part of being retired. You can't really look forward to the week-end. In fact, the week-end is worse since the golf courses are more crowded. lol
Tough life, but I am trying to adapt.

CJ, Bob and I are not pro slackers like Ed and the others and they need us to keep working so their social security checks don't bounce.

What is the problem with retirement. I do nothing real good. Of course, that is as long as my wife keeps working.
