i got a feeling we will be offline here for a few days..

it is -19 c (-2 F) this morning, the wind chill is -33 c
(-27 F). we are preparing for 8-16" of snow tomorrow with winds forecast to get up to 60 mph. Power will definitely go out as all the trees are full of snow from the last storm and the high winds will probably knock down the power lines.
we are going out to get some food and kerosene for our heater as we do not have a wood stove or any other heat source other that electric heat.... long range forecast for the next four days is cold, windy, continued snow...

storm is supposed to start tonight, the good news is that there will be no work !!

stick on the ice,

jim

update: 1/24
we have had 3 blizzards this week.. this latest one is still going on...the power is still on but the wind is getting bad....weather channel says it will continue till tomorrow....I saved a small bird this morning as it had hit our window and was freezing in the snow bank, when it warmed up it got away from me so we had to chase it around the house for 20 min before got out the open door... heck, winter ain't that bad... no work !!
except that it made my toyota look like a mini van !

Jim - Will the truck start? Not that your going anywhere, lol.
I remember scenes like that from my days growing up in Nebraska When my vocabulary expanded to understand the word 'warmth',,,I moved to Arizona, lol. It takes other longer for their vocabulary to increase,,,,,when they get to the word 'snowbird', they come to Arizona and Florida for the winters.

hey AC,

after this, who is going to appreciate a top down drive in the Kat more than me ??

At least the snow is light and easy to shovel...

that truck is a 89 Toyota Corolla sr5 station wagon 4wd... it starts real well... another 6 " of snow and it will look like an honda element, My son's Geo Metro looks like an Aztek, and Nikki's corolla sedan looks like the new Charger...

but the plows are off the road because of the white outs so the farthest i can drive is to the bottom of the driveway...

the new Charger in white....
