What non-metal performer was asked to write a ballad for KISS after they had so much success with "Beth" and who asked them to do it?

Michael Bolton was the singer/song writer, who asked him (hint - they are good friends)? What was the name of the song?

I believe the name of the song was "Forever" - I give up did Paul Stanley ask him? He co-wrote it.

Bingo on the song!!!! Ace Frehley is reported to be a good friend with Michael and asked him to collaberate on a ballad for them since "Beth" was such a hit. "Beth" by the way was never intended to be a hit. It was on the B side of the 45 and a D-Jay in Chicago (I believe) played it one Friday evening was the station was completely overrun with constant requests for it. The rest, as the say, is history. Good guess Tami!

Peter sang "Beth". I think he wrote it too. It was never meant to be a hit but, filler on one of their albums. They were a heavy metal band, who'd want to listen to a ballad? How wrong they were.......
