Well,
David N went to a local chevy dealer today with me, and we managed to wheel and deal my way into a new toy. Just got back with it!

Sweet Dude! Congrats.

By the way, when you get a chance, see if that shifter would work in the prowler. I've been thinking that it might fit for a long time, but have not had a chance to verify.

Personally I would have gone with the ORANGE, but it's a good looking ride anyway. Congrats!

I don't know what you paid for it but yesterday I was speaking with a friend and his brother has been trying to buy a SSR and he's negoitated a $15K discount off the MSRP on a 2004 with the guages and running board. Thought that was unbelievable, but since there was a 300+ day inventory a couple of week ago I can see it. Think it was in Ohio at a dealer there, but not sure.

Wally,

unbelievable is an understatement...... Ron's SSR is loaded and the MSRP was 47k he got his for more than 15k in discounts and rebates... i think we went $1200 below triple net.... It wasn't a give me right off the bat.. it took a while and few walk out acts and few smoke breaks and 3 managers to get the deal done..

Every time they had no more $$$ to give we would find $500 here or $250 there...

Gm has a $7500 rebate and if you own any GM product they will give you another $1500. the rest is up to the dealer..

we found a dealer that had 7 in stock so they wanted them GONE.... Ron's was sitting around since last june...

I'm going to buy a Sliver one nest week for my daily driver.. you just can't find anything this cool at this price... I feel sorry for the folks that paid 50k just few months ago...

Thanks everyone.
Steve, nice ride. I need to find the aux gauges for mine. So far I love the truck. It rides great, and has minimal chassis flex. At least the windshield/dash don't shake like some other convertibles I've been in.
Guess I'm going on the power tour after all.

Here is a shot of Bob Lloyd's new '05 SSR,,,taken yesterday.
Bob owned a silver Prowler, traded for a '04 Cobra [too fast for him, lol], and now traded for the SSR. Says it is the new LS2 engine - 390HP version. Has chrome wheels, optional gauges installed, and side step plates - List at 51K MSRP

I have purchased numerous items from Denver @Barry's Chevrolet. He has the best inventory and treats his custermers like family.
