On Saturday, Jan. 15th, Jimmy, Michael (Jimmy's son) & I went out to Clinton where Warner Bros. is filming portions of the Road Rally. Warner Bros. has had the 78 Vette since Wed. and stunt drivers are driving the car for these sequences. They had a five mile section of Hwy. 10 blocked off. We told the police we had tires for the race car and they waived us through. We were out for about 3 hours among the film crew and took quite a few pics and watched them film three Takes. I think they were still planning to film three additional takes after we left. They were throwing Molotov cocktails at the police cars (movie police cars) and it was interesting to see special effects crew setting up the cars. In addtition to the filming along the road, they were also filming in front of a green screen for special effects. It was neat... I've posted pics here: Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds) & Uncle Jessie (Willie Nelson) Stunt doubles in Caddy... Stunt Driver in my 78 Yellow Vette...
A key feature of the movie is an Illegal Three Hour Road Rally Race (sorta like cannonball run through Hazzard CO.). In addition to the #78 Vette, Jimmy and I will be driving race cars in the filming taking place this Wed. Through Sat. at State Capital Raceway.
"Dukes of Hazzard" Race Spectators Sought" Ages 6 and up can participate one or all of the following dates: Jan. 19 - 22. Call the Extras Casting Hotline Jan. 18 after 8 P.M. at (225) 272-1877 for times and directions. Volunteers will not be paid, but lunch is provided by Johnsonville Brats." Explosives strapped to front of police car to show car taking direct hit from Molotov Cocktail. Crew in truck making the cocktails... The movie cast includes: Burt Reynolds (Boss Hogg), Willie Nelson (Uncle Jessie), Jessica Simpson (Daisy Duke), Dolly Parton, Danny Devito, two young guys playing the Duke Boys (don't know there names)... We haven't seen any yet... I'll take more pics this week... Rally cars lining up for filming on Take #2... Molotov cocktails on road after filming Take #2...

I'm not picky. I'd like everyone's autograph. P.S. Just have Dolly sign one of her bras. Daisy can sign one of her pairs of Daisy Dukes. Boss Hogg can sign whatever is handy... like a $100 bill. Uncle Jesse can sign one of his guitars (or one of his baggies). I'll be willing to accept a General Lee in lieu of "the boy's" autographs. You can sign a theater poster showing your cool car. |
