I have 26K miles on my 1997 model. I had the gas filler issue but had the TSB performed and it's all good now. I also had an issue with the car dying with no warning and it wouldn't restart for the last year or so, so I didn't drive it much. Two dealers checked it out but it took Neal's expertise to resolve the issue. A short in the body computer was the culprit, and the OEM replacemnt has worked flawlessly since. Thanks again, Neal! BTW - I always loved the hood props on the later cars and wanted to upgrade mine, but apparently the prop is a good thing... Dave

AC...if I may...After spending lots of time in the chat room with both cw and GRROWL, I will say that he knows that of which he speaks (or writes in this case). I will also agree with cnote...hood prop and color! My car was built 7/98 and had a good old fashioned hood prop.

Only preference for me would be that it's a Plymouth still and it came in some of my favorite colors....but apart from that it's the coolest car ever no matter what year it is!

Dawn - did I disagree with GRROWL somewhere in this thread? I don't see where I did? I know he is beyond his years in knowledge, and he keeps the good book [Prowler Service Manual] under his pillow while he sleeps, lol.

I have a 99 and an 02. The things that come to mind on the 99 versus the new models would be:1. Koni shocks 2. Semi-solid forged upper and lower control arms versus the cast arms on the newer models. 3. Unique exhaust manifolds and front pipes which were built for Prowler versus the ones adapted from the LH vehicles. 4. Torque converter tuned to the Prowler versus generic. Do these items make the car better? The ride is a bit smoother on the 02, but I don't dislike the ride of the 99. I love both my cats!

CJ nailed three of the four that I was thinking of when I posted this thread, and I learned a new one relative to the torque converter.
