My Dad didn't quite make it across the bridge... He must have been going at a good rate of speed, since he slid 3/4 way across before the truck stopped....

This happened today, while we were out at the subdivision property picking up some, stumps, limbs & other branhes to make it easier for flat chopping the land. Well all of sudden I hear my Dad (84 years young) say I need you to get your truck and pull me off this bridge... I took one look and knew we needed the backhoe to lift the back and roll the truck across...

We had moved one of the foundations from the well area across the property and positioned it over this ditch to use as a four wheeler bridge or walking path... He tells me he drove across 4 or 5 times.. Well, I said you didn't make it this time... I love him and he's been there ever step of the way with me... My sisters are going to give him hell...

How did he make it over the previous 4-5 times? If he really did make it across that many times -- I'm a FAN! I would have missed the block, slide through the ditch, had news choppers and everyone else there to witness it.

And my family would give me heck too.

If you don't like the way I drive - STAY OFF THE SIDEWALK!

Did you ever figure out what that well cap was for?

Does your family have a Coke sponsorship? That's a good one though!

Bob.

Still researching... But, looks like a water well either for the Sugar mill or irrigation... This has been there over 80 years... We dug two 30' holes to bury all the foundations we dug up around the 10' cellar... We uncovered two 6" pipes one with a butterfly type valve under the above ground foundations...

I'll be visting an archive for the company that owned the land early 1900's. Hoping I'll be able to uncover more... Mystery not solved but still pursuing...

Hey Bob. Today, my brother showed me how to operate the Cat Challenger and use the choppers... So, I can add another piece of equipment to my experiences... This is not as much fun as the bulldozer... but, I'll be back doing more chopping ever 3 days or so...
