I onw a used car dealership and had a customer trade in a low mile '03 Honda Civic Si. It has an add on tach and an intake. It was grinding into 3rd gear, likely a bad syncrhonizer. I took it to the Honda dealer and they are denying the warranty claim due to "abuse" and modifications. I was under the impression that they had to prove that the modifications caused the problem. I haven't had a chance to talk to anyone from Honda yet, so I'm not sure where they get the abuse from. If anyone would care to share some advice I would really appreciate it.

I would go somewhere else and get another opinion. It seem's to work for some Prowler owners. It's quite obvious the intake caused the transmission to have a problem.

So I don't know if the car is flagged just at the one dealer, or in the whole system.

Low miles with the syncros going doesn't make sense. I had my Cat gas tank leak repair refused by a dealer because the engine was modded. Guess you have to find the right dealer. A few holiday bucks might make things easier for you to get a warranty repair.
